Hi all,

I've been vaping a KR8 for about 4 solid months now, dripping with a 901 atty. I am getting a bit fed up with the inconsistent charging of the batteries (including the pcc), sometimes they work well and sometimes the electrical connection is crap and it stops charging -- this is true with multiple batteries and chargers, from the wall or computer. I really feel like the "banana plug" style usb adapter connection to the battery is the culprit.

That said, here is what I want in a mod:
  1. Has to work with 901 attys and KR8 cartos
  2. 3.7V, highest mAh I can get
  3. button has to be in a sensible area (not as an endcap) and should be flush to the body/have some way to keep it from going off accidentally (preferably without a fiddly kill switch)
  4. I know none of these things are milspec, but as durable as possible. I work in an environment that may expose the unit to rain, heat, snow, and a few hard knocks on occasion as a result of detaining an unwilling person.
  5. Preferably won't break the bank.
Thanks in advance. Here's hoping for the mod of my dreams! :D

Laser Mods @ Ikenvape are only $30 with 901 / KR808 connector.. It runs on 10440 3.7 Volt Batteries.. which are interchangeable. I bought a multi charger and 4 batteries which are easy to change...

VapeStack, from MadVapes has to be my highest reccomendation but it is not back in stock yet. It goes for about $60. It comes with a Free Atty & Drip tip for 510, but you can buy an adapter for $2 and use your 901 atty & carts if you want as well...

If battery life is what you are looking for, I just got my RiVa which is very similar to the Tornado or eGo but an XL version.. It lasts me for about 8 to 10 hours so far

If you don't want to spend a bunch of money to start out, try Kens Box Mods. Very consistant vape with a 14500 battery and the price is right--$27.00 for a mod. Greatest guy you'd ever hope to deal with and now he has a 5v model for just a few bucks more. Free shipping as well.
Check it out, you won't regret it.

+1 on the Silver Bullet with an adapter. I would say a BB but the button isn't flush.

I was looking at that too, and am leaning towards the SB (though I do wish it came in black). I also wish I could find something a little less pricey ($85 for a metal tube with a switch and a threaded bit? c'mon!) and with a replaceable button (the site doesn't list it, unless it's an almost identical price for the weird-looking dual-atty thing).

Well, scratch the SB... apparently the switch isn't user-serviceable. I swear, I'm just gonna pick up some batteries, start drawing up some schematics, and build my own. It can't be much harder than building my guitar was.

Cameleon (spelling?). Switch is user-serviceable and comes with all adapters needed. Also looks sweet and you can get a sleeve to vape at 6 volts if you want. Sorry, didn't look too close on what voltage you wanted.
Also, IkenVape has excellent customer service from what I have seen!

ETA: The button is also recessed. 3.7 volts is lightweight and even the 6 volt is lighter than my Chuck. Hubby dropped his this weekend and chipped the asphalt but it didn't do any damage at all to the cameleon!!!

Silver Bullet with an adaptor for the atomizers.

Ummm, why would you want a user serviceable switch? If you have to service it then it's junk. The SB switch has a duty cycle of 1,000,000 mechanical cycles and 200,000 electrical cycles. That would be the minimum life. And it's rated to 8 Amps... what service?

OK, so this might not be the most popular reply, but I personally like the DSE905. It comes with a 901 atty. It uses a 900 mah 3.7v 14500 battery that will alst you the whole day. The button is in a perfect place right at your thumb. Although it is exposed, the shape of the unit keeps the button from being damaged. It is very durable. I have dropped mine at least a couple dozen times as well as gotten it wet in the rain. Mine did finally break after 5 months of use. But that's because I have droped it on the road one too many times. Also, the price is right. You can get the whole kit for about 55 bucks and if something does break. You can get a replacement body for under 30 bucks. Most importantly is it vapes great. I use mine with a 510 adapter and it gives me tons of vapor.

Battery: ps3 controller's internal rechargeable battery. small, 3.7V, standard power connectors, 610 mAh

switch: take your choice off an old tv remote

Wiring, your choice of a 901 or 510 battery threading (heaven gifts, 5pack for $6)
small control board, assorted electricals, possibly stolen from the ps3 controller, etc..

Then paint the thing in plumber's dip, making sure the button, led, and usb charging port (for an added convenience) are exposed.

The result: some broken .... and 20 bucks at radioshack and you've got the most durable, waterproof(with caps for the connectors) PV you can buy. Oh wait you can't, will just have to make one. Of course It's gonna look like an alien dropped a bomb, but you might be able to conceal everything in an athsma inhaler, or some other stealth vaping ensemble.
