May I ask why you need a 250W box mod?

I don't want to sound condescending, but I've never met anyone who actually uses anywhere near that much wattage. More power isn't necessarily better.

To each their own, but I honestly question whether a person could inhale the vapor/heat generated by running 250w, at least repeatedly.

In that well known video of the chinese guy talking about one of the VA 250w clones he literally sets his cotton/RDA on fire when he goes above 175w...LOL.

Yup, same ole same ole - someone posts that they want high power and out come the slams about why you would want that. How about just answering his question? :thumb:

Those are the only mods that I know of that run over 200 watts and the SMY has good reviews. Their 180w mod that I own has excellent build quality. I personally would not hesitate to buy the 260 if I wanted it.

Maybe he just like the hit to be that "warm" ;)

I'm not trying to slam him. He may very well know exactly what he's doing and is building coils that really need that power. That's why I said "I'm not trying to be condescending" and didn't try to tell him to buy something else. I'm not trying to tell him what to do or what to buy, but I do want to save people from the mistake of buying something under the belief that it will be the greatest thing ever only to find out that they would have been just as happy with something else.

Those are the only mods that I know of that run over 200 watts.

And that's kind of my point. The options are very limited at that power range. If he doesn't actually NEED that much wattage then why limit his choices?

For example, the Snow Wolf has temperature control. If you're going to use temperature control then it's very unlikely that you'll ever run the mod over 50W before the temperature control kicks in and reduces power. That's why all of the high end temperature control mods (DNA40 devices and SX Mini Class M for example) are 60W and less.

More often than not these super-high powered devices are just a gimmick. I'm sure there are people who actually use that much power, but the number of people who do is tiny. I'll be more than happy to help him find the mod that will work best for him and does everything he wants, but I want to make sure he's really going to use the power and isn't simply enticed by the gimmick before recommending a 250W mod. 250W is no better than 100W if you're vaping at 50-70W. In some cases it could be worse.

After all, we don't want him setting his face on fire when he gets his first dry hit at 250W do we?

All of that is true and my comments weren't directed at you.

I was looking for a quality one that I could use for some analysis at the highest wattage/lowest resistance settings. I don't mind taking it apart and comparing it to custom builds

Looking at some rudimentary vape analysis as well as how various juice mixtures react at the higher output

Thanks for some of the feedback/opinions, I could also look at how the device holds up at the higher temps

Edited to add more info

I would think he get alot better battery life if he a high power vapor not stressing his mod staying well below the max output. Or maybe he vapes over 200w and wants more power he just wants to know if anyone has experience with those he listed. I havent owned any so cant be much help there but maybe can expand your list for more options. Any who ebay has some intresting high power mods from time to time. Not that i trust them but thats just my preference i havent had much luck on there. Buyer beware on that site make sure its a reputable source could end up with a walkie talkie or something.

I don't understand what you mean Hype. What kind of analyses are you talking about and what device will be at a higher temperature?

A lot of 'cigalike' and medium tank analysis of vape has been conducted and there's some good papers on what the vape looks like when the eliquid is at higher temps in those devices but I haven't seen much with the high wattage mod boxes

I'd have to agree with the above. I can do 165 and rarely see myself going above 120w . I can't imagine the fluid wouldn't taste burnt that high. Either that or a few draws and you swap batteries.
How do y'all vape above like 50? Hell over 30 makes stuff taste burnt to me? I know it does depend on coil setup but I couldn't see how anybody would need more than 100. Isn't te vapor super hot?
