Hi ThomasP and thanks for the welcome back!

We had horizontal rain, very high winds but only four tenths of an inch of rain! Lost electricity three times but it came right back on again. That part is remarkable. Usually with three drops of rain we lose electricity for eight to twelve hours here in East Texas. Lots and lots of lightening and heavy thunder. We had a few tornado's in our area, but those were for the most part north of us. That was a nasty storm and right now its going north-east and from what I'm seeing on my snazzy weather station there's half a dozen tornado's on the ground in that storm this morning. Its not over yet, but the sun is shining here.

We've been very fortunate as far as fires are concerned and these little local fire departments in our part of the country deserve a big pat on the back for keeping the many fires we've had under control. I really admire firemen, very tough job and tough men and women.

Glad to hear it. Having spent a very significant portion of my life in West Texas I think I am still an honorary Texan. At least in my own mind. :)

I missed your post yesterday. Sorry! I'm glad that you didn't have any damage and that you and your wife are okay. My boss, several of my students, and co-workers live in Alabama. The damage there is devastating.
