How hard is it to step down a level in nicotine content (as far as satisfaction/craving etc.)?

18mg gives my preferred throat hit, but its just not enough nicotine - I don't feel satisfied even when chain vaping it seems. 24 mg is too harsh of a TH for my preference and vaping it all day makes me a little ill. These seem to be the most common steps in nicotine level from most ejuice suppliers. So 21mg would probably be a good inbetween (but I'm not sure as I haven't tried it yet) and while its easy enough to dilute with buying a bottle of 18 and 24, I'm still new and haven't yet found a juice that I love enough to invest in large bottles, much less to buy some random juice I haven't tried in 2 different sizes to get to 21mg.

So I'm thinking the best thing for me might be trying to "step down" to the 18mg. Through your experiences how hard is it to do this? Does it take awhile to get used to it? I'm assumming eventually that the lower level would be satisfying and it won't constantly feel like I'm denying myself... right?

Thanks :D

Welcome to the forum Snackie.

You are kind of caught in the middle there. You can always trade off--vape 18mg most of the time but when your cravings get too much switch off to some 24mg for a while. I've diluted some juices with plain PG or VG, some flavors actually tasted better, others a tad muffled. Ordering two strength of a juice flavor you don't know if you like probably is overkill. Two different flavors each in their own strength isn't so bad while you are testing. Lots of samples seem to sell in around 16-18mg only anyway.

Everyone is different. I stepped down from 18 to 12 without a problem, with 18 for occasions. 24 is way too strong for me and actually makes me crave a cigarette sometimes, even after 11 months.

If you mix equal amounts of the 18mg and 24mg juice you would get juice 1/2 way between. or you could buy 0mg of the juices you like and use that to reduce the 24mg. 7 parts 24mg and 1 part 0mg would be 21mg (I think)

FreedomSMokeUSA will make your juices 21mg if you ask in the comments of your order.

If you are using juice with a lot of VG, instead you could just get the 18mg with less VG. VG dulls TH. I use 80PG/20Vg and 90PG/10VG. And heat enhances TH (you can get more heat with a big model 450mah+ that can use LR atomizers and cartomizers)

Just a bit of encouragement... When I first started vaping TH was a critical factor. Now that I've vaped for over six months, TH is the least needed aspect. Lotsa flavor and vapor are my targets now.

Good luck in your quest! thumbsup.gif

Buy the same flavor in both 18 and 24. Mix 50/50. That will give you 21mg. You can work it down from there by altering proportions.

Sounds like you have a plateau somewhere between 18 and 24. Once you break through that, it will probably get easier to work down. Till you get to the next one. Take your time and chip away at it. You'll get there.

True - you could just add some VG (I think 7 parts 24mg and 1 part VG to make 21mg?) - it will thicken the juice some, dilute the flavor some. But don't just buy any glycerin. USP Glycerin is allowed to have animal glycerin in it and that does not taste good. You want 100% Vegetable glycerin. The Humco brand at Walmart (near rubbing alcohol) should be fine - Humco said their is all vegetable. And at Michael's Crafts you can find the pricier Wilton glycerin near the cake decorating stuff. Or you can order PG or VG online many places like OneStopDIYShop and DIYFlavorShack and at many juice vendors.

I was 1PAD strong tobac smoker. I started Vaping at 36 mg. After 2 weeks I went down to 24. Yesterday I went to 24. The only difference is for the first few days I vapird more but that eventually tailed off once my system got used the new level of Nic.
Good Luck.

It's tough; for me at least. I use 24mg and the next lowest is 18mg so I got a BUNCH of that and now it's not enough TH so I can't use it....yet. I talked with Brandon at Ms. T's Bakery and he told me that she would make any kind you wanted (i.e. 21mg which is right between 18 and 24). So if they do it, other vendors might too. And you know what they say, it never hurts to ask.
