Refilling carts with a syringe

I use VERY hot tap water. It will dry quite a bit faster. If you get too frustrated waiting, try a hair dryer.

Since I am too lazy (and klutzy) to be standing around holding a syringe.. I used your suggestion of blowing air and used the "can of compressed air" for my computer keyboard... seems to work quite well to get out excess water! Thanks for the help :)

Just ordered a syrings from JC with my last order so I could pre-fill some carts for driving and I am annoyed. I have to fill them all with the same flavor!

When I go to clean the syrings... I suck water in and out until I think it is clean. I pull the back (pusher) off the syrings, disconnect the needle (which I dulled after I read this post cause I am a MEGA klutz!) and then I wait for it to dry. I heard if you get tap water in your juice it can breed bacteria and germs in it... so I don't use it again until it is dry.. but it takes more than an hour to dry inside!!!!! SOOOO frustrating... may have to buy a second one.

Spikey--hit the needle with the blow dryer--takes any water right out the picture. I do it all the time-- Sun:)

I went to walgreens and explained to the pharmacist what I was doing with them and he put me in the computer as "ok to buy". However he gave me the biggest gauge he had and it was 25, juice is too thick for this so I order some Luer Lock, 12 ml syringe w/18 ga x 1" needle from Discount Pet Supplies, Pet Supply, Online Pet Supplies they are only .19ea but shipping is around 8 bucks so I got 20 of them for a grand total of $11.75. Hell it's better than standing around walgreens with a bunch of sick people trying to explain yourself like you are doing something wrong.

Your mom said not to say...
DO NOT USE IPA TO CLEAN ANY OF YOUR VAPING SUPPLIES!!! That is the worst advice EVER! IPA is not for human consumption PERIOD, no drinking, no inhaling, no nothing other than external use!

If you wish to clean out your carts or needles, (why would you use a needle on anything other than a cartomizer cart is beyond me) use either some 100 proof or higher Vodka or PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol) blow them out after soaking for about 30 minutes and let dry. Once cleaned that way the carts are free of previous flavors and ready to go. At this point you can use a syringe to refill them. Try and stay away from diabetic needles as stated by others those are just too thin to quickly and efficiently refill your carts. The ink cartridge refill kits work nicely as do the others mentioned.

I use a blunt needle to fill my 510 carts. It fills from the bottom up, so air bubbles or air-locks don't occur as they can in drip-filling.

I also use blue foam, and inserting the needle down one side of the cart allows me to compress the foam and release it, much like squeezing then releasing a sponge. This allows a uniform fill.

If I overfill, a simple drawback on the syringe plunger removes excess liquid. Beats dirtying up tissues and throwing liquid away!

Finally, I can fill perhaps 10 carts with the syringe and needle in the time it takes to drip-fill one cart. It's sooo convenient.

Doesn't the alcohol evaporate completely, and quickly? Explain the problem, since it isn't going to be consumed. It is commonly used topically as a disinfectant.

Oh, and I agree with all who stated insulin syringes are useless for handling eLiquids. Anything of larger gauge than 18 is too small ... 18 is too small for glycerin, and almost too small for most eLiquids, works fine for flavorings. I'd recommend a gauge of 17 as the smallest. I bought an assortment of blunt tipped pippetting needles. Paid way too much for them, a learning experience.

when cleaning my 901 carts, caps and "condoms" I put them first in a colander and rinsed them well. Then I soaked them in very hot water with a few drops of chlorox bleach. I let them sit for awhile.
Second, I rinsed them and then soaked them again, then attempted to drain them on a paper towell. I eventually got impatient and took them for a spin in the salad spinner. So much extra water was removed this way. I then placed them back on a new papertowell to finish drying. Did not take long. I liked my salad spinner idea :)

ok I didnt check this thread often enough to get the advice.
I went to shoppers today cuz it was along the way... and remembered to pick up some syringes. all they had were insulin ones..

And the PV seems to be too thick to pick up. the needle head is wayyy too thin... I pull to suck it and nothing - just creates a vaccum... from the whole draw i get maybe 1 drop...

paid 4bux for pack of 10.
what else can i use it for?

Darts? Injecting vodka into your oranges?
I think the insulin needles are something like 29 or 30 gauge. I just ordered a set of 4, 10ml syringes with blunt needles for refilling ink cartridges on ebay. $1.50 or something. With shipping, under $5.50. We'll see how that works out.

Yes I have both!.
but then how do you eat it?
or is that it?

That would be it. You just eat it, juice it, whatever you would do with a non-injected orange :). You can do any fruit, although I recommend a meat baster for injecting watermellons.

I just got my syringes with the blunt needles for ink cartrige refilling. It's your standard oral syring with attachable needles with covers. Needle is maybe 1.5"? maybe 2". It could stand to be a little larger gauge. I'm guessing it's 15-18 gauge? It's perfect for PG but barely large enough for VG. VG you have to pull back on the plunger and wait. If I was going to do bulk operations I would remove the needle, suck up whatever VG I needed, stick the needle back on and proceed, repeat. Just the 4 syringes for $5.38 (s&h included) was worth it :)
