Refilling KR808 thru the battery end... say what??

I keep seeing this.

Say what?

I've been popping off the white cap and rubber ring with Drew's handy tools then dripping 15 drops or so in at an angle and calling that good.

What's all this about refilling from the battery end?

First of all, why would we want to do that vs. using the other end? That hole is fairly tiny. Are you injecting it with a hypodermic needle? If so, is any hardware (i.e., atomizer) in the way or at risk?

Is it better/more rapidly absorbed that way, or what?

Tell me all your sordid battery-end tales, please.

Thanks in advance!

If you are using a standard juice bottle you can actually drip right into the battery end very easily and it gets sucked up into the cart. I figured it would make a big mess but it was actually easier than it sounds. I can get more drops in through the battery end than I can when refilling from the top but my issue with refilling is that I think I put Too much in and flood the atomizer. I think the reason a lot of people fill from the battery end is that it is easier if you are out running around.. you can drip a few drops into the battery end and get a vape going for a while without popping off the top of the cart.

It's not ideal.. but it will work. When you drip in from the battery end the liquid runs down the tube, then past the coil (probably, depending on orientation) and then through the wicking control layer.. and then into the filler. Or... it runs down the tube.. past the coil... and out the mouthpiece!

It will probably take a lot longer to refill a carto through the battery end. And.... you really should let it sit and rest for a good long time after you do this so the liquid becomes evenly dispersed throughout the filler material.... but it can/will work.

To avoid drying out/burning issues, a lot of people just drip 4 or 5 drop in the battery end every 40 puffs or so. Just hold it at a slight (30°) angle and drip away. You can rotate it a bit every couple drop to disperse more evenly. Roll it around a bit and 5 drops will get soaked up in a minute or less, unless the filler was already full.

Much easier than using the mouthpiece end, though if you want to be really precise that might be the way to go. Still hard to tell if you've got it fully topped off that way. Or worse, put too much in and get a mouthful of liquid. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Either way, if you get liquid coming from the mouthpiece, just blow out the excess from the battery end into a paper towel and give it a few minutes to settle.

Thanks to all for the tips!! Frustratingly, I ran outta the house this morning and left my KR808's (BOTH of em!!) at home, grabbing only my box of carts. GRR!! Fortunately, I had my backup little trusty 306 mini fog machine, so I'm sitting here dipping into alternate RY4 and NuPort...

Doesn't anyone worry about the juice somehow pooling at the battery end and ruining the battery? I think that's one of my main worries about topping off on the battery end. Or is everyone using manual (sealed) batteries? I'm an auto battery person. Too lazy to push a button, probably.
