Refinishing mech mod contacts???

My contacts are filthy i used super fine grit sand paper and that worked great for about a month. Now the plating is fading and it is not hitting as hard I have cleaned everything but I think the contacts are done for can I use a metallic spray paint to put a harder hitting finish on the contacts? Thanks.

Have you tried to use rubbing alcohol? Not sure if that's safe or not. Just a suggestion.

Yeah but what I need is to add a layer of brass, copper or any conductive metal back onto my contacts.

There are some conductive pastes and putties around, I don't know how well they will work for this, but it might be worth a try if they are not too expensive...

only thing I can think of that will last and is easily done is to use some hi silver content solder on the contact surfaces of the pins.... hey its solder, used to connect electrical connections, seems like a good thing to use since its for electrical stuff

That's a really good idea, Killer!
Probably best accomplished by taking the mod completely apart and preheating the intended workpiece with a torch and using the expensive silver solder, but I could see that working out well... basically re-plating without all of the hassle of setting up an electroplating process...

You might want to try a anti-oxidation product. It's pretty much a must have for electricians.
It conducts electricity well & can bring some temporary life back to worn contacts.
