So how does everyone here refresh the palette when testing juices? I've come with 3 or 4 flavors I think are interesting and pretty good, but after vaping so many variations the nuances are almost lost on me.
I do clean out my atty by vaping pure pg/vg mix, but I feel like the flavor gets a bit lost after a few hits, and when adjusting the flavor- a drop here or there, its hard to tell anymore what is going on.
I also set aside a certain amount so I can come back to it with a fresh perspective, not to mention to allow for steeping but that means waiting a few weeks before really knowing if a mix will work.
What do you guys do to refresh the palette?

For cleansing my palate I followed directions from this forum. I eat a cracker or something salty. I like a handful of SmartFood followed by cold water.

Since beginning DIY juice I'm rotating about 10 attys a day to test juices. I rinse them in the evening in hot water, blow them out and they're ready for tomorrow. I test new creations in a LR 510 and LR 306. I'm a dripper. I note which atty works best with a juice beside its recipe.

I just made the perfect palate cleanser juice! I have sat here testing flavors all day long and my buds were fried. I remembered an old favorite of mine and thought hmmmm.....I know that smell so well, I think I can make it. I mixed up a base of 70/30 VG/PG and added 1 ml EM and vaped the room full of clouds....ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Now this is just what the doctor ordered. I decided to bump it up a notch so I added 6 drops of PA Toasted Marshmallow. That added just a tad of a burnt taste that I needed. This has definitely cleared away all of the stale flavor syndrome. I can live with this until I find what I'm searching for. It really is an excellent cleanser and a satisfying vape as well. I love the plumes!!!

I like your idea with the base and EM but do u add any nic at all or is it just Pg/Vg/EM? And how long did u vape that for till u started seeing a difference?

I do put my usual 18 mg of nic in it. I'd say about 30 minutes and my taste buds are awake, but it's so good, sometimes I vape it all day long. I love the heavy vapor production and the almost nothing, yet something taste is very pleasant.

My mix was 10 ml base 70 VG 30 PG 18 mg nic. I added 1 ml EM. It's wonderful just like this but I decided to play with it after vaping it a few hours and added a couple of drops of toasted marshmallow. After it has sat for a few days, I think I prefer the plain EM mix, especially when going for a good taste bud awakening session.

I actually put that together and let it steep for about 2 hours even though you let it go for a few days and its no different then when my buds are fried and have no taste anyway so its actually good for me. I vaped it for about an hour and decided to give another flavor a shot and whatdaya know, the flavor was back! I was shocked considering I have tried everything and nothing really worked. Lynda you are now my new BFF. Now Ive been going back and forth with fabulicious results. I did exactly what you said except I can only get it to 65/35 cause my nic base is 100% vg. Great results, thanks so much!

I was told that cotton candy would work if you were unable to mix EM cause sometimes it doesnt bond with PG well. I have seen that posted a few times so I do believe that would be a decent alternative.

Yes, it is the same and it is hard to dissolve the crystals in PG. It will dissolve quickly in the PGA but takes several hours to dissolve in PG. Cotton candy is what I used. Sorry for the confusion. I use the crystals to mix with TA. I used 1 ml of Cotton Candy to make 10 ml.

As long as you don't add too much EM it will dissolve in PG. That's what I do and if I've added too much some crystals will sit on the bottom. I just take the liquid from the top and add more PG as it has the space for it. I think the max is 1/4tsp to 15ml of PG. I read somewhere that PG can only absorb so much EM. So once it's dissolved don't shake it again until AFTER you've used what you need for that mixing session.

I did mix 1/4 tsp of EM with 10 ml PG and I kept heating it up by letting it sit in a bowl of hot water and it dissolved pretty easy with some vigorous shaking for about 30 minutes until on and off. Worked beautifully for my 10 ml. I use it quite often with my tobacco mixes. I let it steep for about 2 days and it was goood to go. Some people have the excess crystals on the bottom of the bottle but I didn't have any. Great mix!
