This is simply constructive criticism and I hope it can help the forum owner.
I had to go through the registration form three times before I had success.
Captcha numbers are clear but I was not sure what part of the image I supposed to input. Half of the image or both parts.
It would be helpful if instructions were below it that both sides are required
Since I got the captcha wrong I had to go back and fix it. After the screen refreshed it did not remember my password.
So I had to go back again and fill in the password and captcha again.
Form also does not remember you agree to the terms after page refresh. This one is really annoying because it looses all the information one has inputted into the form.
Makes for a frustrating experience.

The 580 spambots that registered in the previous 10 hours beg to differ.:p

Wow, I can realize why you take precautions... The obvious question though is whether it is worth making registration more difficult for the real user if you still get 580 registered spambots? It is obviously not working to keep them out :p

Hehe... The idea is to confine the spammers to the NM forum where they can be easily caught. :)

Actually, I wonder if the new members' forum process really is that big a help regarding spammers. It certainly helps keep the forum at large clear of new-member type questions, but the technology we are employing at the back-end is catching far more people out.

I still wanna know how that one keeps getting through. You know - the one that keeps posting for fake china designer shoes, handbags etc. in the foreign language forums. (I know... purely rhetorical... ain't ever gonna be answered here...) Seems like I find those posts and report 'em several times a week. If there was ever a notorious spammer - that would be it.

Not necessarily the same person each time. :)

Thanks for any reports when you do see them. It really is a help!

His name is J0ker, and he is pretty cool. I had a hard time verifying my Paypal account. Then I got on the phone with them! Problem solved within 2 minutes over the phone. Anyway I first registered through my e-bay account. Apparently he was unable to view my account(like it did not exist, tho I have had it since 2003) the first time he tried so he sent me a PM through the forum. I explained my problem with paypal and told him I did the e-bay route first. I told him I had since corrected said problem with paypal and gotten verified. He wrote me back that he would find the registration I made through paypal and within 15 minutes I was verified on the forum. I am thinking j0ker is a classy fella.
