I got this Cisco SR510 2.5 ohm Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper in the mail today and I'm in love. I like a lot of different flavors and I think it's great how quick I can change flavors. The difference between a tank and an atty is astonishing. One thing that helps me is I constantly have to be doing something with my hands and this helps that a lot. I've noticed I've used a lot less juice than normal since I started dripping.

I've been working my way through the thread but I have a couple questions. I apologize if they've been asked and answered already. From reading I know you're not supposed to store them dry. For storage can pure VG be used? Now for the kinda silly question. For those who blow their atty out between flavors do you turn your PV off every time you unscrew the atty? I'd like to do my best to keep these working as long as possible.

Yep, VG is fine. I store my unused atties filled with VG and a carto condom on each end, or in a tiny zip bag.

No reason to turn your PV off when removing the atty.

Congrats on getting into dripping! Welcome to flavor country :D

Thanks for covering this, J.

p.s. I have a friend (another one) that needs some assistance with coil building.

Thanks Jerms and thanks Mr. Mann for starting the thread. I started at the end and am working my way to the front. I've learned a lot so far.

You are awesome! All too often people don't read for themselves, but want FAQs re-answered. Thanks for acquiring already-stated info so that any new questions will keep the thread relevant, pertinent and non-redundant.

I just got this yesterday Cisco SR510 2.5 ohm Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper and I really like it. So far it's been easy to use. All I've done to maintain it is blow it out through the battery. I'm sure more experienced voices will be along shortly. The only batteries I have are eGos, 2 vv and 3 standard. Side note: the kit does come in lower resistance in the package or specials category, can't remember offhand the exact category.

I just looked at the link and I feel like I just started vaping again. LOL I have no clue what the heck I am doing!

It's ok. I felt the same way. In a nutshell the link has everything you need to start dripping. You get the 2 atomizers and a drip tip. I have my vv eGos set at 4 volts, which works good for me. I followed the directions at the bottom of the page and haven't had any problems.

ETA: reading this thread has taught me a lot. There's a ton of wisdom in these posts that help so much.

So this might be a silly question, but I have multiple juices I want to try, so I figure the best way to do that is to drip. What's a simple dripper for a newb like myself to buy? One that's easy to maintain and use. TIA

PS I only use ego batteries ATM

Hi

When I was dripping my standard Joyetech eGos, I used 510 SR or LR attys and 306 LR attys. Like these:

Joyetech Joye 510 Atomizer
Low Resistance (LR) Atomizer - 306

Actually, that's the same ones I use now.

ETA: I also have a blog about dripping. You may have already seen it, there is a link to it elsewhere on this thread.

Drip, Drip, Drip…

I want to offer dissenting opinions about two procedures: blowing out atties and making sure coils are wet before storage.

After almost three years of vaping, I've occasionally tried the "recommended" procedure of blowing out atties through the connector end, but it just never works for me. No juice comes out through the drip tip end into the kleenex. I tried it again tonight with the same result---nothing. I don't know why, but that is my experience. Instead, I blow out all my atties through the drip tip end. I'm not clear on why that will necessarily damage the coils or wick, but if it does, I haven't noticed any casualties among my stash of atties, diminished performance during dripping, or shortened life-spans.

As for storage, I don't worry about whether or not the coils are wet when I put away an atty. I don't drip any PG or VG onto the coils. I just put 'em away. Also, I challenge the assertion that all atties come from the factory with "primer" on the coils. Not according to what I've read and purchased. Some do, of course, but other atties are sold dry, with no primer. In fact, vendors sometimes specify that (presumably to let their customers know that they should drip some juice on the coils and let it soak in before firing up the atties the first time).

I'm not telling anybody what to do or not do. YMMV. I'm just sharing my personal experience.

Bill, you are not the only one. I tried blowing out the connector end, but all that happens is I get juice on my lips and blood vessels in my eyes burst. LOL. Yes, for me, it was an exercise in futility (but maybe it is better? I dunno). Part of the reason I never jived too well with the HH-357s is because if Hanna is correct, and that is the "right" way to "clean" his attys, I'll pass.

Empire Mods, Ahlusion, Roar and some Cisco Spec attys (among several other vendors) come with no primer (likely they're all coming from the same place anyway). Bone-dry. The times I have ever ended up having an atty revert back to bone-dry is if I boiled it and left it to actually dry out. The reason I needed to do that is to get some flavors out that refused to leave--now I'll just retire the atty.
