Backups backups.. but this atty was more a proof of concept. Now that I know I like the results, more will come!

I have been using standard resistance Joye 510 atomizers for over four years now.
Because I have been perfectly happy with them I haven't tried any of the more expensive atomizers.
You're going to get a whole bunch of opinions though.
But trying them yourself is really the best way to figure which ones you like and if they are worth the money.
As for me, I'm sticking with my standard 510s.

I'm a 'whatever works' kind of dude. The no frills atty that I got from Heather's works as good as I'd expect.... VFTh all great. I'll just stuck to those. That is why I think something like a Reo might work well...

I use many different brands and kinds of atties (along with cartos, clearos, and tanks), but here's an inexpensive way to get a bunch of really good atties, either for everyday use or backups. Kanger Horizontal Bottom Coil cartos are essentially bridgeless atties with fiber batting wrapped around a center tube that sits right on top of the coil. Stick a pair of needle-nose pliers into the open end, grab the tube and batting, and give a gentle pull. The tube and batting come right out with no harm to the coil. That morphs the carto back into a perfectly good bridgeless atty.
Why do this? The Kangers are dirt cheap, give great flavor for dripping, and last just as long as regular atties. The draw is a tad tighter than many atties, but I actually like that.

Are the Kangers as good as HH.357s? Maybe not, but they're always in stock, and I can buy 18 of them for the cost of one HH.357.
I absolutely LOVE my Mini Reo, even though I never use it because I only vape in the higher voltage ranges.
But if I could get a variable volt Mini Reo that wasn't any bigger, I would be all over that.

Funny you mentioned that though... when I was looking around for info, there was a video that explained how to use an atty... but really, it was a cartomizer that he had yanked the filler cartridge out, primed the coil, then stuffed the filler cartridge back on the tube, then filled it. Now, I am no expert, but I wondered, why rip the thing apart to put three drops on the coil when you are dumping 20 on top of it?

I really like the 1.5 ohm Hybrid BF slant-coil atomizers for my two VMOD 2.0s. I don't use them on any of my other bottom feeders, but they are perfectly matched to the VMODs and make for much better performance on those than with any other atties.
Seems that Vapage is out of them right now, however. They have 2.0 ohm atties in stock, but not the 1.5s. No problem, though. I'll wait until the next 50% off sale, since Vapage seems to do those every other month or so. Gee, Bill, isn't 2.0 ohms close enough? Nope. Guess I'm just picky. LOL.
Vapage's regular 510 atties (without the beefed-up slant coils) are in stock at various resistances, including 1.5 ohms. I just don't need any of those. Oh well... Still a great sale for some folks.

Another vaper is about to go to the dark side. At first my hubby laughed and made fun of my atty. He'd say what's the point? You have to keep putting juice in it. Today he asked me to get him one. He admitted its pretty cool how I can change flavors quick and its good for testing different juice. He even admitted you can taste flavors better. That one took me dripping his ADV for him to really see the difference.
He also noticed for me being a chain vaper the levels in my bottles aren't dropping as fast as they normally do. I think it's because my juice consumption is spread between a little bit of a lot of bottles

OK.... I am going to dive into the rebuildables I guess. I like my little 510 bridgeless, but I'd like something that can hold a bit more than a spit's worth. I am going to get my feet wet here by going for a Smok RDA... since this is my first attempt at building coils too... not only am I going to get some wick and wire... MVS has some pre-wrapped coil bundles... so I'll have that as a backup.

I peeked in the doorway of rebuilding coils for about ten minutes. Not my thing. That was back when RBAs were still fairly new. Now we have daredevils vaping sub-ohm coils on mechanicals powered by 40 amp batteries. That must involve some serious amperage levels. Seems to me like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Oh well, more power to 'em.

Man, don't get me wrong, I wish I could get down with the draw, the rebuliding, and the overall culture of RBA/RDAs, but it's really not for me (as of now). You seem like the perfect person to handle that, though! Maybe I'll ask you for help later on.
To be fair, not all RBAs/RDAs are airy. Generally speaking, Genesis-style atomizers offer fantastic flavor, but with a draw that I find unsatisfying. The stock holes on a Nimbus give it a pretty satisfying draw. The Kayfun and Kayfun Lite have a medium draw, while offering the flavor of a rebuildable and good capacity. The GP Spheroid has a great draw, full flavor, and a little bit of capacity. Next week I'll be posting my review of the AMP Tank, which is a nice (but finicky) solution for fans of dripping atomizers that want some capacity.
