Is it not vaping as well as it used to? Or did it actually blow out?

If it's not vaping as well as it used to, or tasting weird, it just needs to be cleaned.
Dry burning is the only cleaning method that I have found to remove all of the built on gunk.

If it blew out that soon, that could just be bad luck, or it could potentially be from built on gunk.

My understanding is that as the gunk builds up over time, it can push the coil up and eventually cause a coil connection to break.
But five days would be extraordinarily quick for something like that to happen.

Yes, I tried dry burning and it just couldn't produce vapor anymore really...I did see a vid where a guy used vinegar and baking soda to clean one. Perhaps I'll try that next time. Thanks for the reply and help though.

Can you use Everclear? Or at the very least clear vodka? (I realize some people can't have alcohol in the house which is why I posed the question this way.) I like to give an overnight soak in the everclear when I'm beginning to accumulate too much gunk.

I also do a dry burn at least once a week, following the method outlined here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

Have you had that Nicquid before? I wanted to try it. I was looking at Midnight Express. Is that what it's called, or am I thinking about old wrestling tag team duo? LOL.

The midnight express is good-a darker juice, but the Daybreak is off the hook-- it is as described on the website. I have alot od different juices from different vendors including the top ten in the thread for top favorite juice vendors but nicquid has some great juices and there is a 10 off code as well!!

Howdy everybody. So, recently picked up a mechanical and want to use it for dripping.

Anybody have leads on the best commericial atty drippers and best price, I saw a few metions several pages back but checking for any recent info?

When I first started vaping I used a few commercial atties. A no-name brand I can't remember, dry hits were HORRIBLE.

I also tried some io6's when I had gotten a drip cup adapter and they were pretty good, but don't think it will work with what I have now.

I had really liked the 901's by empire mods, I put on a 510 connector. Checked them out again, may pick some up but they are 7.50 a piece

Mainly what I would like is longer barrier, because of how the mechanical is built, the 901 size fit perfect for length, good price (don't we all) and when a dry hit occurs not to kill me (like the no-name I had tried), and 1.5 ohm.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The info several pages back hasn't really changed. And Empire's premium 901's are $7.50, but their standard ones (require break-in) are $6. If you like 901's, that's the place to go.

Much appreciated.

Honestly besides the connector I am not sure what the difference is between 901, 510, etc, do they differ in flavor, etc?

I see they had 510's for 5.99, out of stock right now, but peaked my interest.

The 901 draws air through a side hole, while a 510 draws air through the post. In general, the 510 provides more throat hit and the 901 provides a cooler vape with slightly better flavor. 901s can leak easier because of the side hole and generally can hold less drops.

I said generally a couple times because those attributes can vary from brand to brand and atty to atty. I used to prefer the 901 for better flavor but now find the lack of throat hit an issue.

What OHM are the Joye atomizers from Digitalciggz?

Hell of a deal. Decided to try and drip full time with my Altsmoke BB. Sick of rebuilding, and fiddling with tanks. Been using Cisco spec atomizers, generally 2 for 10$.

My Joyetechs, uh, the Joyetechs are 2.2Ω.

Hmm. Running a 3.7 device...damn.

Hmmm...well, when I turn my ProVari down to 3.7v, I get a rather decent vape. Don't get me wrong, it ain't the same as it is at 4.8v, but it is decent. But then again, if I turn my PV down to 3.7v, it stays at that and what it reads at is that.

Far be it from me to suggest a "high-end device," i.e., expensive one, but do you ever have any aspirations for a VV or a VW? If so, those little boogers may come in handy down the line.

I had a standard, mini Provari and REO, VamoV2, Silver Bullet, VMOD, MVP2 and a slew of other devices, but really wanted to downgrade to a simple, reliable, extremely pocket friendly device. It seemed like I was losing it, spending money on everything lol. I sold all of it on the classifieds, telling myself if I ever needed one again, I could just get one there. Trying to focus on keeping my vape as simple as possible right now, focusing on one device, juice, and simple toppers such as atomizers and carto tanks, no more rebuilding, wrapping coils, testing ohms. I was just spending too much time doing it, got into that hobby mentality big time and had to get out of it, I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else. Its like going full circle heh.

I suppose 2.2 wouldn't be a terrible vape, not extremely optimal, but the price is great on these, could use as emergency backups I suppose.

Funny, I'm over at the opposite end of the spectrum.

I now have RBAs on four of my bottom feeders---two A7-Mini RBAs (designed to be bottom-fed) and two YK1-Mini RDAs (modded from dripping to bottom-fed by using a dremel with a .033" microbit to drill a small channel through the silicone insulator that surrounds the positive pin inside the 510 connector---that tiny juice channel works beautifully for squonking, by the way, and appears to cause no danger of shorting out the positive pin, since the insulator is still intact). I've got 1.3 ohm micro-coils (29 GA Kanthal A-1) with cotton wicks on the YK1 minis while the A7s still have the regular coils they came with---2.3 ohm, presumably 32 GA, with silica wicks. I'll swap those out at some point for 1.5 ohm 29 GA micro-coils with cotton wicks.

One A7 is running on an 18650 wooden Phid bottom-feeder, with the other A7 on a 5-volt regulated Juicy Luicy bottom-feeders. The YK1s are also paired the same way, with my other Phid and my other Juicy Luicy. Despite the differing coil resistances and voltages, all four are giving lovely flavor and copious vapor production.

My two Vapage V2 (3.7 volt, single-14500) bottom-feeders work best with Vapage 1.5 ohm hybrid slant-coil atomizers (and don't work very well with any other atties), so I'll leave them as-is, while my Old Goat and Missy Wetbox (also 3.7 volt, single-14500 boxes) are outfitted with Kanger 2.0 ohm bottom-coil cartos that I've converted to atties by pulling out the polyester fiber batting and center air tube (the batting and air tube just sit on top of the coils, so removing them with needle-nose pliers is a snap---a slight pull and they come right out, leaving the modified cartos as bridgeless atties). One 14500 600mAh IMR battery is a little too anemic to provide adequate power for RBAs with coils lower than 1.5 ohms. Anyway, those batteries are right at the limit of their design capabilities with regular 1.5-2.0 ohm atties, so I don't want to overly stress them. Better safe than sorry.

I still use a JoyeTech atty on one of my VAMOs as my dedicated "juice tester," and my large stash of JoyeTech atties won't go to waste, since I like to tinker and change things up often just for the fun of it, but right now I'm certainly glad that I didn't buy another 50 of the JoyeTechs.

I also ordered four of the new Efest 18650 IMR LiMn high-drain 20-amp (30C rating) batteries. I've been using either 5-volt NIMH batteries or the grey Panasonic hybrid CGR18650CH batteries in my mechanical mods, but the Efest will be nice to have for minimizing voltage drop or allowing me to try sub-ohm vaping should I decide to take that daredevil plunge.

As much as I respect dripping and feel that it's about the purest of all the vaping methods, I have to admit that my bottom-feeders with RBAs are looking better and better at this point as possibly the best of all worlds---atties, cartos, tanks. But that's probably overstating a momentary opinion, based as it is on the flush of infatuation that follows a new success (building micro-coils).

Just about everything in vaping waxes and wanes for me---you name it, and I've probably not only tried it, but quite likely been around the block and back with it, often on a recurring basis. A more reasonable and accurate statement might be simply that I'm enjoying my RBA bottom-feeders very much right now, and leave it at that.

Id have to agree the REO was the best mod I have ever had and that is the one I regret selling the most. Bottom feeders are truly the best of it all. I may have to get a mini 2.1 whenever one pops up on the classifieds at a decent price. But than again, I can never make up my mind it seems in the vape world. Nothing lasts too long before I'm on to the next thing, but I really want to keep it simple and small!

This is the wrong thread for this post, but I need help identifying something someone sent me as a pif *yes, I'm too lazy to ask them directly. I don't know if it's an RBA, bottom feeder (don't think it is, though), or something else. It's a clone from fasttech, that I know from the box lol

Can someone tell me 1) what it is 2) how to coil this thing

Your goals are the same as mine, and I'll tell you where I'm at...

The same atomizers you just bought are the ones I have been using for years.
And they now sit on top of a 650 mah Twist battery, which is normally pegged at 4.8 volts.

This setup is as small as I can get, and it fits in my pocket just fine.
If 650 mah is not enough, you can carry a spare battery right alongside in your pocket.

This setup works fantastic for me, but your mileage may vary.
:)
