I was in a new one in Westland a few weeks ago and the owners hadn't heard of Ahlusion or Heather's. Which is like a sixties garage band not knowing the Rolling Stones and, uh, Herman's Hermits.

That is as perfect a simile as I've ever read.

Alright, hopefully I'm in the right spot, forgive me if I'm not.
I was looking into a way of testing new juices without blowing a tankful, especially if I get into making my own flavors.

But it seems I'm confused according to my local B&M, I don't want to blow clouds like this one young guy today was, I just want to drip to test flavors.
I thought a Joye 510 would work but I'm wrong?

Shame on your B&M for being so ignorant but you have gotten excellent advice here. However, since you aren't likely to get any face-to-face help I thought you might find some useful information about dripping with manufactured atties in this video.

hey,
I use SR 510 attys. I was under the impression that a SR atty is around 2.2 ohms. so would an atty of 2.8 ohms be considered a HR atty? thanks

I don't think so. Atomizer resistance categories have always seemed to me general rather than precise. Anything from 2-3 ohms falls within the range of standard resistance. Below 2 ohms is low resistance (LR); above 3 ohms, usually meaning 4 and up, is high resistance (HR).

If anyone's interested I think I ran into a source for joyetech 510's but they aren't cheap
1.5ohm 510 atomizer x5 | Atomizers | Atomizers | Gentlemen's Reserve
I just hadn't seen any at any price for quite awhile now.

I was wondering if anyone has tried these out

I guess people get rid of the tank and pull the spike out = bridgless dripper.
The reviews are quite good overall. The price is right. I think it's safe to assume it's not a 357 or whatever.

That's a standard resistance (2.3-2.8 ohm) generic 510 atomizer, designed to work with a 510 tank, which is a system that came and went more than two years ago. Apparently the atties have a spike as part of the bridge that punctures the seal of the tank. At the price (5 for $1.43 each shipped), not much risk. Yes, I think it safe to say that throwing away the tank and de-bridging to get rid of the spike would be the way to go with these. They might be OK as drippers; they might be lousy. Quality control might be inconsistent, so that some might work beautifully while others are duds, but that could be said of most any mass-produced, factory-made Chinese 510 atomizer, which is what the great bulk of 510 atties will be.

All over the place
hi, I was going to post this a few days ago, but my computer is giving me fits!
I got an email that this company is having a sale. when I went to look I found boge 510 attys SR for 1.99 each. I don't think I've used boge attys before. I just ordered a few to see how they are.

510 Atomizer by Bogetech - Fits EGO (Black) [BOGE-ATOMIZER1-BLACK] - $1.99 : Analog Alternative, The Smoking Alternative

oh and ps, free shipping over 14.99

Boges aren't bad, especially at that price. But the same numbers game applies with duds.

I got the attys yesterday. they all metered in the 2.8 range (as the site states) except for one that is 3.5. I use 650 egos and 510 joyes (yes, I know, but they work for me) I also have a reo mini (14500 battery). I gather that the 2.8 ones will be ok with my batteries, but will the 3.5 one be ok?
do I need to try them all or are they working if they meter ok?
thanks

They'll all work, but that 3.5Ω may only put out vapor like those old bubble gum candy cigarettes where you blow out the powdered sugar. You'll be using a 3.7v for a 3.5Ω resistance -- not a whole lot of power.

Yes, a 3.5 ohm atomizer screams for at least 5 volts. Using 3.7 volts on that atty is like kissin' yer sister, since you're vaping at only 4 watts. Pretty anemic. 5 volts gets you up to 7 watts, which is OK, but 6 volts would produce 10 watts of power and be a much tastier vape.

It was one of the first rebuildables I bought and it's still one of my favorites. Beauty in simplicity and as a bonus it's an original design from China, not a clone. It's very small for a rebuildable, which means it offers flavors at a 10 (it's older brother, the IGO-L, is more of a 6 in flavor in my experience). The IGO-S would be my top suggestion for those who want an experience closest to disposable atties. It's not very popular because it doesn't hold near the level of juice as the bigger ones. But for people like us who have been dripping for years in 510s and 901s, the 12 drops to fill and 8 when redripping is more than enough capacity. I'm weird, I enjoy the smaller capacity, because it lets me drip more :)

I use it on mechs, but for eGo users it sits flush and looks great on the fat batts.

Unfortunately, the Igo S appears to have been discontinued by Youde.
