lol, atty - unfortunately, we expect the list to be accurate once updates have been posted and we do rely on them. while there's still plenty of time before we might have to put morri in rotation we need to make sure she's thouroughly comfortable with editing ....

Time is what I suggested.

If morri doesn't want to edit it... that's different. She should be comfortable with what she is doing. However, the comment above is disappointing. Training was only 25% complete IMO. I have full confidence that, after she had completed training and had time to get comfortable with it, she would have been 100 percent accurate with it.

But, like I said, if she doesn't want to...that's different.

Suggest you double check with all the other list editors too and make sure they know the procedures. I guess Cindy is now editing directly again?

If there are others that are as familiar, you can delegate/ask for help with training and "watching out for each other". I know Nat was double checking also.

I agree with you, time will definitely make the difference Atty.

I not sure that any of us actually want to edit the thread, it's scary for me and I'm pretty comfortable with the way the PVT and the list operate. So l like leaving it up to Morri to say when she's comfortable enough with everything to volunteer to be list editor again (I'm pretty sure that's also what you were saying). Morri was pretty brave for being willing to consider it while she's still getting her feet wet :)

Right now it's just Tibs, Whis, Catt and me on the rotation. I think we're all somewhat comfortable with list editing ( ...but since i hope others will volunteer, your point is well taken about making sure all are comfortable with the process.

Perhaps if anyone is contemplating colunteering they could go ahead and practice a bit so see what questions they have (tibs, which thread is avaialbe for list editing practice?)

Just a heads-up: carpedebass may not be around on the 8th. I vaguely recall him saying he couldn't make it for his avatar party. However, I can't find any post from him actually saying this. As of today, he hasn't posted at all since 5/31. I sent him another PM today asking if he'll be around on the 8th. No word back yet.

This is what she posted there...........

August 12 - tj99959 -(10:46 = 11:25 AM) Avatar Party: Beagles, esp. Snoopy's family

August 24 - Catmom -(11:11 = 11:25 AM) Avatar Party: Cats {Fran}

hmmm...why not leave them here. I will get & place the times like this...and then you can move it to the list...saves many edits and less cooks stirring the pot.

done!

allazar >> delay by one hour

(snip)

and whoever starts the thread needs to make sure allazar understands when and when not to sign in ....

Since that would be me, could someone please confirm the time he needs to be off-line... Is it 12 AM midnight Eastern (forum new day?) the night before in order for the delay to work?

My understanding is that he has to stay offline between midnight and then log in LESS than an hour before the time he wants to turn... Is that correct?

since he wrote he'll be going to work that morning midnight should be more than safe ;) and to play it safe on the other end, logging in after 6:30 am eastern should do the trick! ;)

theoretically, signing off at 6 am should prevent his turning ......... but we never tested that hypothesis!

ooops - remember, some people stay signed in all the time even when they are not on the computer. i'm one of those :D so, tell him that's a no no!

Thanks, Tibs. That's what I thought, but I'm not sure what would happen if he logged in mid-day for a while, for instance? Would that mess things up? Anyway, I'm going to tell him to just log off for the day. Now, by log off, do we mean he has to actually log out? Or just not be on line (as in close the browser)? Interesting questions, eh? :)

tweety, he needs to log out from ecf. he still can check the forum as a visitor. i don't think there much to worry about, he's only delaying his turning by one hour. and i'm sure he intends to sleep that night, lol!
tell him to make sure to sign out when he goes to sleep that night and not to log on before 6:30 am eastern the next morning. he's central, i believe, so that's still mighty early for him ;)

the same questions keep coming up

anything that the editor needs to add to the list goes into the ''to be added'' sticky - that includes new prevets, missing themes, thread starter volunteers, etc .....
any turning delayed by request of prevet and/or pvt team goes into ''reschedules'' sticky
worksheet to be used only for any invitation pms sent to avoid duplicates

all regular pvt business goes in here ;)

Tibs, could we have a new sticky--listing thread titles and what goes where... I thought it might help us navigate the subforum better... We used to have all the info in one thread in BWB; this is new, so it will take some getting used to... It's really hard to find all those bits and pieces of information all over the place.

I'm not the only one: ;)

This probably should include Classy's thread, if we're going to use it to communicate with her? She thought it would be a good idea, but maybe things have changed. If so, please disregard that suggestion.

classy, i hope, went back to the old way! that has worked well in the past and is less complicated. much easier to scan a list for '' >>> time needed'' than to go searching through a thread. especially since classy doesn;t have the time to check on us every day.

i'm hesitant to make yet another sticky but maybe it's worth a try to repeat my post above a couple of times in here.
i really thought the 3 work threads were easy to remember, lol. and now that we have rotating editors we do need to keep track.

Well, the August list is also a "working" thread--and somewhat duplicates the "to be added" thread. Is it going to be replaced with the September list? And October... Or is August list be icorporated at some point into the "to be added" list... ?

''worksheet to be used only for any invitation pms sent to avoid duplicates''

the august worksheet will be retired eventually and replaced by the september worksheet ........ that's why it's not a sticky .......
