Gets old being forgotten about over in the corner.

My thoughts, if they say "surprise me"...just says they really don't care and are only there to enter the contest.
Why even have a default...just do a welcome thread like we used to do :)

If I remember right from elsewhere, bamsbbq is a he

October List - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pvt-contest/326078-october-2012-selection-list.html

@Starry-one:
I think j0ker agreed to the following:

Our proposed amendments to the existing rules:

1. Everybody with a welcome thread started in the new vets' welcome forum is eligible for the monthly drawings AND the grand prize drawing at year's end.

The only requirement being the welcome thread is started BEFORE the prevet turns.

2. Prevets who take the time to celebrate with us on PVT during their turning and have met the requirement for #1 are eligible for an additional bonus drawing at the end of the year.

There will be NO penalties for a reschedule and the team decides if the requirements of attendance were met.

I also think this is why there is an increase of new veterans starting their own threads there.
Or did I miss something and this is allowed now ?

Classy, I think we (the Committee) meant (but not stated clearly enough) threads started by another vet before the prevet's turning date--not the self-started threads (post factum). Actually, we discussed it in some detail. It probably should be added--clarified in the rules.

If the requirements have been changed to include every 20012 vet we may have overlooked, I apologize for causing more confusion--please delete my post. The more the merrier... :)

The thing is that having to select a theme may be a "turn off" for many.

Atty, nobody needs to have a theme! We talked about before. We can have a nice turning party WITHOUT a theme. They just need to be present on PVT at the time of their turning--we provide conversation, flowers, cupcakes, balloons and fireworks.

We've done many threads and parties without a theme before.... A theme is extra (and it's a relatively new addition to our celebrations).

Classy,
This list is just posted here for us. Unless someone is posting a link to it elsewhere without my knowledge, the general membership should have no access to it.
Like Kat said, self-started Welcome threads aren't eligible for the contest; although we willingly post welcomes in them.

catt is right, classy. i believe we see occasional self-started welcome threads because people stumble over the contest thread.

even though we have some leeway we have one ironclad requirement. a welcome thread has to be started before somebody turns vet which, by definition, excludes any self-started thread since a prevet has no access to the vet forum.

these are the amended rules as approved by joker

1. Everybody with a welcome thread started in the new vets' welcome forum is eligible for the monthly drawings AND the grand prize drawing at year's end.

The only requirement being the welcome thread is started BEFORE the prevet turns.

2. Prevets who take the time to celebrate with us on PVT during their turning and have met the requirement for #1 are eligible for an additional bonus drawing at the end of the year.

as you can see, if you would start a thread for an upcoming vet before his turning day and decided to bypass pvt that thread would still fulfill our requirements. and any other vet could do the same for an upcoming new vet. we did not want to exclude anybody who'd rather not go through pvt.

one other favor, please. could you include this link Pre Veteran Thread List in the first post of the pvt thread. it leads to our list of prevets hosted on a site created by our catt.

I think people turn vet, see the new vet's forum, and either would like the acknowledgement, an introduction, to enter the contest, or some combination of all 3.

Whether they've come across the contest via the j0ker's contest thread in the contest subforum or the first post in PVT both are still linked to the pre-vet faqs here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/wellness-wrecked-bonkers/97885-prevet-faqs.html#post1463868 .

if they actually click through and read, the FAQs clearly state that the thread must be started by a vet before the individual becomes a vet. However, the FAQs also haven't been updated with the new simplified rules.
