I was going to suggest breaking up the PVT thread. it's the main one i get bogged down in, especially near a forum refresh. I get lags, but few if any 504's.
Has a reminder PM been sent to Az? I also remember that the theme was set up via PM with Fran.
Same here with lags/504s. I got my first 504s last nite, was refreshing a couple of tabs at the same time and PVT and a co-op thread returned 504s.

Well, if the PVT is getting 11K+ posts per month, busting it up about 4 times a year would help. Could go every month even, but it may get annoying to people to have to change links all the time.
At least twice a year would be helpful....like about now. Breaking up the longer threads has helped for those particular threads.
though PVT is often bad it's not the only place. the worst lags i get regularly are trying to navigate PMs, and "my posts".
the drawback to breaking it up is that the new one won't be started by Whis...and I'm not sure I'm ready to do that yet.

I suspect the coding to actually do the group of which you speak is more difficult than it sounds....

i reported and the thread got closed. i do not appreciate being told to do something else when i'm trying to get ecf to load to update and post the list.
and, as you can read above, my main suspect is a member's personal history where thousands of likes might be bogging down the system
