Remember your Analog days?

Trying to light a cig in the wind?
Striking 20 wet matches to find a good one?
Bumming a light because you can't find your lighter?
Trying to light a wet cig?
Trying to repair your last broken cig?
Standing in the freezing weather?
Trying to cover up the stink?
Burning your car seats or carpets?
Exposing your kids to toxic smoke?

After reflecting on the things above, I wonder why folks are complaining about having to refill a cart after 10 or so puffs, changing batteries a few times a day, the draw is too hard, etc, etc, etc.

Isn't it a small price to pay for what you're getting?

A very similar thread was recently resurrected: "How I Miss Smoking".

I remember when...

... I had an empty, cat-less lap.

... A spaz attack in the car resulted in dropping a lit cig between the
driver's seat and the console. Cigs fit... a hand will not.

... A spaz attack in the car resulted in dropping a lit cig between my legs
while driving on an expressway, resulting in burned fingers trying to find it,
and/or having it go even further under my ....

... 8-hour workdays mysteriously turned into 6 hours of actual work
with just a few "quick smoke" breaks.

LOL Good points JD!

Also my favorite (NOT!) is having the filter stick to my lips and pulling the hot cherry into my fingers! Ripping off some lip skin was a bonus to that scenario.
Oh man, I so hated when that happened. That and lighting the wrong end. :D
Oh, and I remember when I was a kid still living at my parents house trying to cover it up by smoking in the bathroom and blowing the smoke into the exhaust fan on the ceiling.

Speaking of cat-less laps. I used to have a cat who became pretty good at lunging on my lap and knocking the cig out of my mouth before I could get the lighter to it. It was a game with her and she was a fast lil booger.

Thinking back, maybe she was trying to tell me something. :D

That wasn't exactly the point I was trying to put across.

What I was trying to say is that will all the grief smokers put up with, they move to the e-cig, and expect perfection. It's not going to happen.

Totally agree, after looking at what we smokers/ex smokers put ourselves through and then thinking about the worst that can happen with an e-cig...

Battery runs out - You should have a spare on you.
Atty dies - You should have a spare on you.
Cart runs out - You should have a spare/little bottle of juice on you.
Leakage - Give it a wipe.

These things are so much less hassle, and a hundred times nicer to use.

I think we get it Jim. I agree, all the whining and complaining in compaison to what we put up with when we smoked is quite silly. Funny, because I don't remember doing that with my first e-cig (ok, maybe I b*tched about trying to work our charging my only 2 batteries from my first 801 kit so I always had one working). I was thrilled to get away from cigs and the stink/mess/hassle/taxes and would have stood on my head to vape if that was what it took!

We are just adding more reasons why PV use is so much better. Reminding everyone of all the problems with cigs again is kind of fun anyway... ;)

I recall the time I went to flick a cigarette out my car window (irresponsible, I know) only to realize, as the .... left my fingers, that the window was up. What a fond memory I have of the fireworks-like display as the thing exploded against the glass, showering me and my car interior in burning tobacco, my car swerving as I attempted to beat out the worst of it.... Ah...the good old days..... Perfection? Hard to beat the perfection of analogs, but somehow I think I'll be just fine with my imperfect PV.

Well you have to admit smoking cigarettes was a lot easier. Pull one out and light it. Nothing can fail unless your matches or wet or your lighter is empty and even then you can bum a light or a cig. I consider the e-cig to be a hobby and a lot of tinkering around with it is normal for hobbies and for me it's fun too and better than smoking.

I've just accepted that fact that they're not perfect, and been happily vaping for months now. The attys seem to get better with age, and refilling has become second nature.

I carry 2 sets, charger, and 2 bottles of juice when I travel. Stay in non smoking Hotel rooms, drive non smoking rental cars, and vape in the airports.

I'm a happy camper.
