Good news. Bobas bounty is removeable. Two alcohol soaks, a couple hours in the sun, and a couple hour freezer trip and the smell and flavor is gone. Yay!

In the future, if you run into a flavor you can't get out, you can send it to Rob for a tune up. Just need to PM him to make arrangements. Also, when you have time...that switch might need looking after if they previous owner had a short and didn't replace it. As long as its not hanging up on the firing pin, it should be fine. You can either send it in for repair or make arrangements with Rob for a new switch and replace it yourself.

Yeah I really should get it over hauled still. Problem is its my only pv so I wont have one while its away.
GOOD info up in here... some of the flavors I like are really strong... but I dont want them to linger!
Yes chock full of good tips. I think the sun helped alot because when tomato sauce stains plastic I use the same method to "bleach" it out. Also the freezer because it constricts the cells forcing out anything that might stay.
Great info here! My suggestion is to get a hold of Rob and have him send you a new plastic post for the firing pin...this way you will not be without your mini for any length of time at all. He can guide you in how to replace that post- it is very easy to do!!

Yeah I shot him an email. Will see what he says. The unit I have seems much older than the recent ones. The outside isn't as smooth and the tooling marks look way different. There's like grooves or lines running up the sides from where it was tooled. Guessing its quite due for replacement parts.

i just got donr soaking my mini feed tube and cap and o-ring in isopropyl alcohol to get a flavor out took two soaks
I would say you ended up with a really good deal on that Mini. Since the metal REO's were only produced the end of last year it is not that old. You have a REO now, and that is what matters.
Im very happy. Age doesn't matter. In fact if it is an original then im even happier. Got ahold of rob. What a wonderful person

Just mailed off my reo for service yesterday. Can't wait to get it back all redone!

Yup. It was never a debate just had wait till I had s few extras dollars for shipping and cost of work. Hard when you have a 2 year old and living off disability, but called in a favor from family who helped me get it sent out. Now just awaiting its arrival and return.
My reo is on its way home now. Such amazing fast service. I have never had any vendor be so nice and take care of their customers the way rob does. Simply awesome.
