Removing magnet from Reo Door

Any tips for getting a magnet out so that it can be put back in?

Thinking I might just drop it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes to loosen the super glue...

That what I did and I used another magnet to help pull them out after softening the glue

If it is superglue, AKA cyanoacrylate, acetone will dissolve it. I wouldn't recommend it if it's a painted door though.

Whack the door, magnet side down on the edge of a table. Might help to get it cold first.

I soaked the end in fingernail polish remover and applied some heat from my mini torch then slapped it against the metal leg of my work bench and it came right out.

To funny! I read this and beer shot out of my nose. Though lately, I have found that knowing I have something I need just means I can not find it. Some sort of old timers disease.

Rob had me use a soldering gun on the magnet, Loosens the glue up. Worked fine.

Yep! This goes in the category of: ..never finding something when you need it, and literally tripping over it when you least expect it.

I've had to do it because I glue a replacement in and it sat a little to high. Need to pull it and clean under it better.
