I've had to do it because I glue a replacement in and it sat a little to high. Need to pull it and clean under it better.

I had to because when I put in a replacement I got it bassackwards. :facepalm:

Thanks for those replies, both cases I can see where that could easily happen.

Doh. I just replaced one I put in backwards (in the mod) today.

I put gently secured the mod (wrapped in a foam sheet) in a vice and drilled into the magnet until I just penetrated to the back of the magnet hole in the mod. Pried it out, got a qtip with acetone, cleaned the hole real well and correctly installed the new magnet. Not recommended for doors though.

I, like filthy, also messed up a door by putting in too much superglue under it. Unlike the beast master, I sanded mine flush. Not so pretty but no sees the inside of my door anyhow :)
