I have spent most of the afternoon reading ECF forums on this topic but have not come up with a good explanation as to why this keeps tasting burnt. It is a brand new atty just received yesterday. I blew it out prior to putting it onto my 510 dropped 2 drops of juice directly onto the bridge and puffed it about 10 times. Then I dropped 2 more drops and loaded the cart and placed it on the atty. First puff tasted really burnt. tried a few times but it never got better. Took it off blew it out again and tried different juice, Still tasted burnt. Did this about 5 times so far but can not seem to get rid of that burnt taste.

What am I doing wrong? Or What should I be doing that I am not doing.

OK, nobody else answered, so I'll try 1st. Some questions tho:

1) What device are you using?... lots are 510 types... What voltage?
2) What type is the atty, what ohm?
3) Look at the cart filler... is it burnt?

Clean out the atty.....

Thoughts without knowing specifics:

Once burnt, taste is hard to get out.
Something was in the atty when you blew it out 1st... napkin?
Too hot.... Too much voltage, too low a resistance.
juice has bad flavors in it. Some fruit flavors burn easy.
2 drops is not enough to prime a new atty.
Something from the cart burning in atty.
Primer tastes bad too... even tho you blew it out. Not usually burnt tho.

Cat hair in atty = bad.
P.S. Was probably that cat's fault.... It plays with e-cigs like stethoscopes.

When you first get an atty you blow it out a couple times-You did that!
Next you drip a couple drops onto the mesh-You did that!
What I am afraid of is that you vaped the wick dry. On a new atomizer you would drip a couple drops, vape about 3-4 puffs and drip a couple more. The mesh and wick are real dry after blowing them out and if you vape it dry you can get a burned taste. Some say if you do that, then the wick is burned.
If you didn't blow it out good enough, you could still be tasting primer fluid.

Here is a link to atomizer issues......http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizer-issues/

I am using a Joye 510 with the mega battery 280 mah
A Bauway 510 Atomizer, 2.5 ohms
The Blue Foam Mod purchased from StrictlyEjuice.com
Blew it out when I first opened the package. Did not see much come out onto the papertowel.
Juice tried so far with this addy is RY4, Wyatt Earp and Banana from FreedomSmokeUSA.
Made sure the Cat did not play with it, he uses way too much juice........lol

So If the wick is burned is there anyway to fix that so it doesn't taste like dirty burnt socks?

I thought maybe I would try some Walnut Maple juice I have. It seems to take forever to get that taste out of an atty.

Thanks for the help. I am still new at this and just trying to figure out what I did wrong so I don't do it again.

Did you wash the blue foam. It WILL have a bad taste if you do not wash it first.

Have you tried to vape pure pg or vg or just an unflavored nic juice? Sometimes that can help.
You can try an alcohol soak. I attempted some cleanings when I started, everyone said that is what we should do. I felt as though it did not help in any way for my atomizers, so I stopped and I just blow them out periodically. If you have back up atomizers you could attempt to remove the wicking material. I have done this and do not care for the type of taste it gives and it will only be good for dripping. This is when you only drip juice directly into the atomizer and do not have a cartridge with filler. Just the empty cart. Which means every 5-8 puffs, you will drip in more juice into the atomizer.

YouTube - Removing The Bridge
No need to remove the bridge, if you do not want to. Do this at your own risk of: 1. Not liking the taste results. 2. Killing the atomizer.
