Please don't buy batteries off eBay. What you end up with is a total crap shoot.

A few days ago someone posted that they bought AW 26650 batteries off eBay - because no one else was selling them.

Problem is... AW doesn't even make a 26650 battery. Dude just wasted over twenty bucks buying fake eBay batteries, thinking he got a bargain.

Personally, really do not like Nitecore chargers. They have a known reputation/reports on here for failing, and possibly trashing batteries when they do it. It's another example of: the cheap turns out expensive. They also cannot recover Li-On batteries that have been allowed to drain under voltage because of the inherent design of the I2 and i4 chargers.

Save up and blow twenty bucks on an Xtar WPII 2 - and get a charger that comes with a two year warranty even. Even a single bay Xtar MC1 does a great job for only six bucks, if you have a USB power supply already to plug it into.

I have not found any AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh batteries PROTECTED yet.

Do I need button top or flat?

Thanks for all the help

You do not want protected. The AW IMRs are safe chemistry. That's what you need. I prefer button top, and I recommend them. However, either will work. The REO is designed to use button top batteries.

You will not find them, the ones used for the Reo is the Red one IMR, high drain. The black AW's are the ones that are protected.

Edited to add the link for AW IMR High drain for the Reo :) AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh - RTD vapor

Nothing to do with the subject matter, but:

I love Reoville. Its residents are very kind and helpful. I wonder if I could get some help on my project. I'm a retiree on a fixed income.

I would like to add to my motorcycle stable, ( Triumph ST, Honda VFR). The KTM Super Duke is my choice: KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R

It cost near 20K with saddle bags and is way too expensive for my fixed income budget. Any suggestion ?

No need for an alternative now. I believe you are all covered except for a charger but I did see a recommendation for a XTAR. Doesn't have to be a fancy one just needs to charge some batteries. If you do not have a multimeter I recommend picking up a cheap one as well.

I donate FB to walk you through the set-up......:D

That's a good one for $10 more the VP1 has volt meters built in, I like the meters.

Yep - I can't live without the meters now. I have one on my desk at work and it sure beats either guessing or whipping out a multimeter in front of startled onlookers.

no, 'multimeter' is not code, Rick, Rattler, and FB
