Welcome welcome. I made a long post on multimeters and my browser decided to crash. I'll try to recreate it when I have time later.

I got a 2ml tube of Deoxit Gold also, have found a Q-tip is great for applying, a couple of drops does it and if you can set the Q-tip upright somewhere, it stays moist for couple of weeks and still leaves a visible wetting on battys, etc.

Glad that worked for you. I still had some arc'ing after applying with qtip, but I know it works for most. I must have really absorbent qtips lol But just a drop on my finger worked great.

OK, I'm going to do it! I"m going to figure out my $ and join you all in Reoville! : )

Still need to figure out which atty to get with it though. I'd like the flexibility of being able to do a single or a dual, and I want something that's known to bring out flavor. Would you recommend something from Reo, or something from Catfish Atty? Is there a place I can see what Catfish Atty has to offer? I tried looking at the thread, but there are 600+ pages and 12,000+ posts! I couldn't make sense of the lists and what they all mean!

After I figure the atty thing out, I'll just have to make sure my wallet can handle it, and then pick out what color I want!

well that atty thing is the tough part. I would suggest looking at some videos of the various attys out there that can be bottom fed. The Odin is very nice for single or dual, but not a great flavor atty. RM4 can do either dual or single. I'm loving on the nuppin, but they're harder to get and a bit more pricey. I was lucky and was gifted one by someone who didn't care for it. Many are loving the derringers and rogues, not sure if they're good for both dual and single or not. When you look at one of chowerhead's or Turks posts on the catfish thread......there is a link to the list. At the top of the list there are tabs on the left. The tab on the right of those says in stock, and that will show you what he has ready to ship. Read it closely, some are authentics, some will be clones. Frankly I'd suggest clones at least til you find out what you like.

Oh and the ohm meter is great, and it serves as something to hold the atty to build on, but you'll still need to be able to meter your batteries, which is where a multimeter comes in. Or the little thing I linked to on ebay which is what I use.

Thanks, everyone! You've all been so helpful!

Honestly you can't go wrong with an RM2. It's not built for duals, but it is a solid flavor atty. Some even compare the performance to a Chalice. If you really want dual coils, go for an RM3 (dual coil version on REO website) or get a Nuppin. The RM3 is cheaper, and excellent, but has no AFC, and if you get the dual coil version, you don't have a single coil option. But, the Nuppin is also great for flavor, has AFC, and can do single or dual coils. If you have the cash now, that's the way to go.
If I were you, I'd get a Reo and an RM2 to start. Cheapest option, and good start to learn about what you like. Most people still have their RM2s and use them, even if they've found other attys they like better. Then, once you have time to save a bit more, then start looking at other atty options, if you feel the need. There are plenty on Rob's site, as well as Catfish, who has a constantly changing rotation of the most recent attys available.
And, welcome to Reoville! :toast:

I did it! I was able to utilize some cash back credit card rewards to cover the cost of a LP Reo Grand with an RM2 and some batteries.

Now I can stop obsessing about whether to get one and obsess about when it's coming instead!

Thanks again everyone for the advice and guidance!

I threw money away over and over and over again on mods, looking for the perfect one. At the time, I think I tried everyone out there! I would watch videos, read reviews, and place my order. Most of those mistakes are long in the trash, didn't last long before they died. No they never worked well when they still did. In my search I found I loved dripping, but yes, it was a huge inconvenience unless you were sitting at home. So I started researching this mod I kept hearing so much about, "Reo!" I ordered one...then two.. Then three etc! Never used anything but since, no longer looking! Make this choice, you'll never be sorry!

Lol .. So true!
