I checked everywhere, but couldn't find it.

to me it 'feels' like the back wall on a reo (grand / mini 2.1) is the same thickness as the side wall on each machine. I don't have callipers, otherwise I could rig something to check this pretty easily.

can anyone confirm / deny my 'feels' like - even better if that could be a real measurement?

cheers

I'll just put this on my ever-growing list of...............things I've never thought about. :D So glad you have your answer though and from the master himself.

just so you know, I have a 14500 OG mini on the way. I needed to know if there was room in the back wall to grind it down to fit the 18500.

14500 is 14.2mm
18490 is 18.0mm

difference of 3.8mm so my answer is yes, in theory it 'could' be done, but a back wall of thickness .01mm and the tolerance of my angle grinder and club-like fists it would appear highly improbable that I could ever achieve it

so I will leave it as is and enjoy it's super slim form factor in all it's OG beauty and bask in the knowledge that I have a piece of REO history (and try not to drop it on the bloody tiled kitchen floor every 5 minutes - I cant afford to replace anymore tiles).

I think Rhapsodies Fire has an OG mini that was grinded to fit an 18490. It had to be "opened up" (a hole in the back) if I recall correctly. I could be mistaken...

Cheers
