Mudflap,
I'm not trying to bash this guy at all but I think he's more of a business man than you think. I too am a business man and there's nothing wrong with making a profit and I'm sure his profit margin is huge. In my business I would love the opportunity to have folks lined up in a frenzy anxiously waiting the chance to send me some of their money. What I'm bashing is his system for placing orders. I can't be at my computer constantly refreshing waiting for the sale to begin and sometimes my internet connection ain't that great. The Reo man (Rob I think) posted on this forum that he would have wood Reos available on Tuesday the 8th on his site. I want a wood Reo so I was there waiting, ready to order but there were no wood Reos made available and no notice about why they weren't available??? Very, very frustrating. I still want one and hopefully will get one eventually. BTW, I've had numerous PM's from other frustrated folks who agreed the ordering system is a mess but for some reason most of them don't want to post anything negative publicly. Of course I don't think what I posted was negative, just realistic. Perhaps the Reo is the greatest thing since sliced bread but folks should be made aware it is very difficult to get one. Maybe I'm not as "reasonable" as you, haha.

The REO sale started at 7pm Eastern last night, and there were REOs available until around 10:54pm Eastern. So while you were writing your post yesterday at 8:43pm Eastern about how hard they are to get, you could have been on the website buying one.

The sale date and time had been listed in several places since Monday or Tuesday well in advance of the sale. It was listed on the the sale thread, mentioned repeatedly on the mega thread, and listed on the reosmods website under the Stock Update section.

I was trying to find a way to word it this nicely when I read this at 2am :p I understand some colors sold very quickly, but there were nice variations IMO that were up for quite a while (green/silver, black/black, silver/silver). I myself registered after 7pm and still got a blue/blue in the cart.
For the OP, Rob is trying his best to meet the demand fairly. It wasn't until recently, probably just 6 weeks ago, that his REOs would sell out in under a minute. So he really has come a long way in short amount of time.

I agree with the OP in the fact that I don't plan on playing waiting games for a PV...ever.
That is probably fine for everyone involved, he obviously has enough demand as it is, and I am patient enough to wait till he has a stock....or china comes out with a quality juice feeder.

That being said I can certainly see the appeal of the reo and ali'i (both of which you have to stand around to get) they are unique in design and only a few juice feeders are as loved by their users. If you absolutely can't wait for a reo some people who have the integrity box mod swear by it...there is at least one person on ecf who says it is better than the reo....though in my opinion it doesn't look as nice as a reo.

i think for me the waiting game is part of the fun...lol...i am currently waiting eagerly for around 4-5 pv's to make their debut....2 being reos....must be the anticipation...:)

Manny get frustrated Smitty, I was there also, but eventually got my Reo grand with help from the people on the Reo thread. I am also waiting on the new woodvils to come out, but Rob is sometimes at the mercy of his suppliers and if something isn't right, as with the reservoirs in this case, Rob will not build them just to have people have problems later. This is just one of the reasons he has such a huge following and demand for the Reos. I know when I do get my woodvil it will work perfectly and for a long time without any problems. I understand others have different ways of selling their mods, but Rob doesn't like the preorder way because if something does happen (snow storm, supplier not shipping, parts that are not up to his standard) people get angry and that is not what anyone wants. so he builds them and they are ready to be shipped when they go up for sale. Also, I think the others only produce 20 or less per week and Rob has surpassed them in the quantity he produces. I don't know about this last sale, but he has had 50 for sale on previous sales. I hope you hang in there and get a chance to be vaping on the Reo, good luck

Smitty, I will fully concede that your frustrations are valid and understandable.

At the end of the day, it's up to Rob to decide how he's going to go about selling his Reo's.

Perhaps you can partner up with him and help him streamline the process? He could pay you with Reo's!

LOL

@Smitty

I get your not bashing the product but the process to buy one...I really get it. It would be nice if REOs were made in a huge factory pumping out as many as people wanted...tho i wonder if quality would suffer. In anycase I can appreciate wanting something and being ticked off because its a practicaly impossible to get it...for that I feel your pain.
Gil

EDIT: Btw I respect posting your honest feelings...as you said others dont.

I know Rob on a personal level, and the profit margin on this product is not as huge as you think.

He has one assistant to help him build mods, and is still a new business, (Les then a year) and is going through some growing pains that most business would kill for. I too am a business man and have seen Rob improve his business practices and over the last 9 months.

(You us to be only able to buy the REO on the ECF try that)

His site has mods when he has them to sell. At one time so many people hit his web site that it crashed.

Try buying a Map Tank mod or Ali’I some time you will find the same issue. More demand than supply. These items are build one at a time and not massed produced.

FYI Rob has been producing around 100 mods per week. Find me another Juice Mod builder doing that to meet the demand of the people.

So you are frustrated that he has built a product that is in such high demand that you cannot get it when and how you like. You should be frustrated with all the people that won’t one and keep buying them so fast that you have not had the opportunity to buy one.

It’s a simple matter of supply and demand. Not anything Rob is doing to make hype or sales pitch or reduce the amount of mods that can be had to boost sales there is a what time for every quality mod these days.

Sorry you’re frustrated. I know for a fact he is dong the best he can at this time and things will only get better with time.

OK, maybe Spirit is trying to tell me something. Went to my regular 12 Step group meeting last night and the discussion was on patience, haha. So I'm getting with the program and went to the Reo website and signed up to be notified when my choice is available - hopefully this coming Tuesday night. I apologize for being such a grouch. I just got frustrated after trying to order with no success a couple of times. I want one and I want it now - one of my character defects.

BTW, I watched the instructional videos on the site and see a 3.7V standard battery is recommended and I assume it doesn't come with the Reo. Are these pretty easy to buy locally, like at Walmart or do I need to go ahead and order them online?

Thanks,
Smitty

To answer your question regarding the batteries ... I doubt you'll have a very easy time finding them locally. The Mini uses the 14500 3.7v batts, and the Grand uses the 18650 3.7v batts. These batts need to be either LiMn batts (with the safe chemistry) or Protected Li-ion batts. Those are no where to be found in local retail stores in most places. I can't even find those batts in stock in battery stores in town (like Batteries Plus). Most people buy their batts from online stores such as lighthound.com and overready.com.

For picking which batts to use, I recommend reading the new thread called "Battery Preferences on the REO." It's located with all the other REO-related threads under the new REO sub-forum. You can find the REO sub-form here: Reos Mods

This afternoon I spoke with Robert O'Neal and he is so nice and knowledgeable. He was very helpful in answering my questions about availability. If you click on a mod on reosmods.com and then enter your email address and click notify me, you will get an email when the mod is available. I clicked on a couple of mods in case the color combination I prefer is not available. Because the Black on Black is so popular, Robert said he will be making more of them available. As many have said before, good things are worth waiting for.

I too had these issues with ordering too. This was definite ly the most frustrating purchase I've made, especialy with the computer freezing while refreshing at 6:59. Then scrambling to get my email sent at 7:02. Then waiting for an invoice from paypal that was linked to an email account my wife had and didn't realize. There was definitely a lot of things flying across the room with some choice words following. But its here now and I try to forget how it got here and enjoy it and you will too.

Don't expect a days notice now.On my first notification,it was sent after the start time of the sale.Went to the site, ordered a different color, and by the time I tried to check out, that item wasn't available.
On this past Fridays sale, the notification came about 10 minutes before 7pm,so I would still stay up to date on sale dates via ECF.

+1. Don't rely on the notification. The item you want may be gone by the time the notification reaches you.

To stay up-to-date on the dates & times for upcoming sales, subscribe to this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/161451-reo-updates-sales-information.html

Then visit the reosmods.com website a few minutes before the sale starts, and refresh the browser until the item you want comes up for sale.
