Had my reo grand for a week already.
Seriously been my daily vape mod and I've been a hard vaper ever since I can remember, and for some reason, the bottom of the push button where it makes contact to the metal strip to connect to the positive of the battery melted in an angled way...

Could it be that I'm vaping too hard on it?
BTW, I'm using a bullet rebuildable atty (Jets Creations).
.32 kanthal wire on a 4-looped 3mm silica wick, which is the sme build I use on my Mortar mod.

Now, I don't believe that reos are not made for hard vaping.... but is it?

...can't help but feel sad. :(

You should send a PM to Robert.

It takes quite a lot of heat to melt that button. Usually it is a short that causes sparks and the heat.

You did not have a spring collapse?

I have been running .95 coils on my Grand and have not noticed the transfer of heat to the REO. I use either a A7 or a Reomizer.

What battery are you using?

Thanks for your replies.

what is the ideal build in terms of ohms, or number of coils on number of wicks?

didn't have a spring collapsed that's why i thought everthing is ok.
I didn't bother to check the ohms on the RA as I was under the impression that what was a good and "safe"
build for my mortar will be the same for the reo... apparently it's not...

Thanks for your initiative, Rob.

I may need to do some reasearch on how to ship my grand from the PI to US.
I haven't done any international transaction...
You can buy a rebuild kit its really easy to repair it yourself . I have how to vids on my site . Chances are you only need a button and spring

My Grand was giving me fits. Intermittent firing and overall just not the performance I knew to expect. I finally got brave and removed the delrin cover. Not only was there a nasty build up of crusty noalux, the bottom of the button was partially melted. After cleaning all the gunk I managed to take the button out and I sanded it back to a smooth round shape. Put it all back together and she's back and better than ever.

I had a spring collapse last year and I don't know if thats when the button melted. I'm running RBA's at just about 1Ω these days adn the Grand is once again kicking like a mule.

I was able to take out the button part already.
basically the reo internals require no rocket scientist.

you say repair kit? where do I get those?
I bought my unit from Knowell De Sotto from chief vapers here in the PI.

Thanks again.

If the button is bad on just one side where it contacts the firing pin, you can remove it, turn it 180 degrees and put it back in.

this is my plan, also, it a through hole where the locking pin is placed
so I'll just need to push it the other way so it will still locks.

Also, i need to get me some noalox.
