I'm not looking at my REO; buuuuuuuuuuut, if one were to drill through (instead of just sending it in to Rob like he offered), is there enough thickness in the delrin to invert the thing? Meaning: drill through, countersink the aluminum back for a flat head screw (same diameter as existing, so pretty small), and then form a little recess in the delrin for a small nut?

Brilliant! There should be enough thickness, since it's already countersunk for the screw head. All you'd need is a slightly longer screw (maybe) and Bob's yer uncle. Hmmmm.

Make sure that there is enough clearance between it and the firing pin so that you don't mess with the throw or rub through the insulator and short.

It would in essence, be in the same location it's in now, so hopefully, the clearances will be the same. Only difference I can see is the nut in place of the screw head, and the screw head visible on the back (which one could cover over with epoxy and sand smooth and paint). Of course, if you do that, you need a tiny wrench to remove the nut :)
