I saw him back in about 1972. His warm-up band was a bunch of guys nobody had ever hear of before--Doctor Hook and His Medicine Show. They were booed heavily--probably because Joe Cocker was late getting to the venue and everything started late. Cocker put on a great show when he finally arrived. (I heard later on that Doctor Hook and Co. eventually made it to the cover of the Rolling Stone)
