Hi all. First post here.
I am thinking about getting a Reo and read that silver anodized is most durable finish. This is mainly for my brother who tend to be little "rough" with gadgets and would like to get something that is durable. I can't seem to find this finish option on Reo's website but I see quite a few photos in the forum. Do I need to make a special request for this finish? (how?)

My brother can't build coils and is on clearomizer. I am hoping Reo with 510 atty will give him something closer to rda experience without the hassle of coil builds. I will be "breaking" it in once I get it and if I really like it, I might get one for myself. Coming from mech world, I like the look of polished raw tumbled. :) If I end up getting one myself, I will be using it with rda topper (which is a topic on its own as I am extremely picky on "flushed" look  ).

By the way, I do like the look of Copper vein and Black wrinkle, but having a "colored" mod just doesn't seem to register in my head. Is this one of those thing that "you will get it when you hold it" type of thing? :D

Thank you!
ZO

There is a black anodized available on Reosmods.com( http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?p...&category_id=8&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3 ) and I believe Rob had mentioned a week or so ago in this forum he was planning of a limited run of some anodized Reos at a future date.

If you don't like the idea of a "colored" mod how bout a tumbled raw aluminum (http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?p...&category_id=8&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3)

We owners can attest to the durability and ruggedness of the finishes of our Reos:thumbs:

But what does your brother prefer in regards to color?

Oh and Welcome lots of good stuff happens here!

Yes, I do like the look of Black anodized and might get that for myself. I am looking to get mini for its compact size. Guessing it would be more pocket friendly than Grand. Not sure if I should just get the Grand.
My brother has similar taste and usually enjoy whichever I pick. Beside, whatever color Reo would be lot better than his current MVP. (and he is not paying of it!) :)
Thanks

Welcome to the REO forum!

If your brother is tough on things the Raw Tumbled would be a great choice. It is smooth as satin. Nice feel in hand. The minor scratches and dings don't show that well. The Anodized Silver is a good one also but there is only a limited quantity of the anodized being done. You could PM Robert (redeyedancer) and see if he is doing any soon.

Anodized finish to me seems more durable than the powder coat. But I have not had any problems with the powder coats that I have.

Color is really a personal thing. The texture of the powder coat Black Wrinkle is awesome. It had more of a grippy feel to it. The Hammertone is also grippy as the Copper Vein and Silver Vein. The other powder coat colors are a very high gloss slick finish.

I like the silver, black, gold, and tumbled Raw. But that is just me. I have a Purple VV Grand that is metallic and sparkly! It is very pretty!

I for sure think you will "get it" if you do decide on a color!

thank you all for great help! wish everything else in life had this kind of forum.
about to order the mod. is there any "must have" accessories for the first order?
getting the block anodize, black button cover, and reomizer rba (for me to play with).
thanks again.
ZO

get the aw imr... does your brother have a good charger? any idea what kind of atty your going to get for your brother? or are you gonna get him a rm2 and just coil it for him? idk... i guess the best must have accessory would be an extra spring, an extra bottle.. just some extras... and... and... some polish for your other devices... gotta make em nice and pretty for when they end up in the classies section... to fund the next reo....

A extra spring is nice to have around. If you have a short it can be replaced easily.

The AW IMR 18650 1600mAh batteries are the recommended for the Grand. Not available on reosmods.

Wire can be bought in different sizes on site. A nice way to try different ohms.

rm2 is mainly for me to play with. he will be using 510 atomizer. (he can't coil) i have spare aw and i2 charger. looks like they are out of extra bottles. if the bottles are same spec as the usual plastic juice bottle, i have a lot.
i haven't been this excited about buying a mod for long time. :D
Thank you all!

You will get two bottles with the new REO. And the 6ml from some vendors works well.

Did you check out the atomizers on reosmods? Great prices!

Just ordered! Will definitely post a pic when it gets here.
If I were to order a second one for me, it does have tough competitions to beat.
I have assortment of mods and toppers, but ultimately, will it beat my ADV which is ProVari Mini + Kayfun Lite+? :2cool:
For hard hitting vape, I use Nemesis + Omega RDA combo, but can't win against the convenience of tank(bottle).
So, while I know Reo will pack a punch, I will try to keep the expectation at reasonable level. :D

oh yes. i already put some in the cart. i wasn't sure how long these last, so i didn't buy too many. also i wanted to try 901 and 306 before i commit to 510. unfortunately, he is out of all other atomizers except 510. :(

For a size comparison someone posted on one of my threads that a grand is almost identical in size to an MVP.

yes. i compared the size (based on the spec) and MVP is similar to Grand. since i don't own MVP, i wasn't sure how big that is in someone's hand. I do own VTR (which is slightly bulky in the pocket) and looks like VV Grand is similar size to that.
Thanks
