I want to place an order for Reo Mini today but have two questions:

which battery should I get: AW IMR14500 or AW Protected 14500 ? I want the battery to have same voltage till the end and just cut off as I've read that some of them lower the voltage when battery is dieing out.

Will this charger work with 14500 batteries? It does support CR123A which is basically the 14500 right?

thanks :)

Both batteries types you mentioned will work with Reo Mini. Both types work well. IMR batteries have less mah capacity, but they're notorious for keeping voltage level till the end.
I suppose that this charger won't work with 14500, it has very short slots for the batteries. 14500 is 50 mm long, batteries supported by this charger all are about 35 mm long.

There is a lot on information on this thread that will answer a lot of questions you may have:

The REO's use a collapsible spring under the battery. The recommended battery allows for the spring to collapse in case of a short, thus enabling the battery to drop away from the contact. Some other batteries are too long and compress the spring. This can disable the spring to move, therefore in a situations where there is a short your battery will stay connected.
