I've been wondering lately how small a REO metal could be made. I typically carry a REO Mini to use in a discreet fashion when going out to dinner, a movie, a sporting event. I can usually get 4-6 hours from a AW 14500P 750MAH battery using a 2.0Ω cartomizer. However the height of this platform is still enough to make this less than covert.

Would an IMR18350-based REO metal based on a cut-down version of the 18490 metal be significantly smaller or easier to stealth than the existing metal Mini? I see this equipped with a black shorty 2.0Ω carto or 510 atty with SuperT shorty DT(might also use a 306 & shorty drip tip).
Would the 3ml bottle have to be down-sized?
Would the 700mah IMR18350 perform similarly to the 750mah AW14500P?

Given that we now have 18350-based VV platforms, I'm trying to see if we could have offerings that share batteries as well. I love my Grands and the 18650s but the steady/consistent vape of the VV technology may be making "resistance futile" and 18350s a staple in my arsenal. Brew

Well here is my 2c :)

Looking at the mini and an 18490 battery I am not sure how you could make it much smaller.

I think down sizing the bottle would be the only way to do this. being the feed system and 3ml bottle is about the same size as an AW 14500. I will now have to study this :)

Would love to hear Robs thoughts on this.

Unfortunately Indianapolis is about to enact legislation making vaping illegal where smoking is prohibited and there are even cities that are making public smoking on sidewalks illegal. I've been a REO Grand guy for almost 16 months but vaping is now drawing the evil "ANTI" eye here and smaller is going to be better as time goes by. I hate the thought of having to use Trog's SD keyrings for a night out. Brew

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's not a radical increase in depth and the stealth issue is tied to the height. I also think the IMR 18350 700mah makes a much better solution than the IMR14500 at 600mah. Brew
Hear is another thought if there is a 3ml bottle about the same size as a 18350 then in theory it could be shortened but would grow a bit in thickness. IT would be more like a cube :)

Enjoy your Grand, Brew. If you're somewhere that prohibits smoking, just practice a little discretion when vaping. City governments like to get all tyrannical with city ordinances that have no chance in hell at being enforced with any regularity. By necessity, dispatchers are selective about sending units to respond to calls for service. If an ANTI sees you stealth vaping in your corner booth at Arby's and calls 911 to have you cuffed and hauled away, chances are you won't see anyone with a gun and a shield unless they're on their lunch break.

I have no problem carrying a Reo Mini with a 510 LR atty in my front pocket for stealth (not suppose to vape at work) reasons. I also keep a spare battery in my other front pocket- I never carry change (anymore!! LOL)...so the battery will never short with anything- this takes care of my stealth vaping needs pretty much all day. If I need another battery, I can go to my car during my lunch break.

Hey Guys,
I appreciate that enforcement is not realistic and I never expel copious amounts of vapor in public. But I have had a mall cop talk to me after somebody told him there was a guy doing drugs in the mall and that they saw my device (Grand) and made that assumption. However, he was a great guy and told me he had no issue other than to tell me to be a bit less conspicuous. Brew
