Anyone else have this happen? Yesterday I finally figured out what was happening with my Reo. I'm real slow sometimes but I have an excuse.

Almost every morning when I wake up I reach immediately for my Reo Grand and then chain vape for a few minutes. Its like getting oxygen, eating when you are hungry and drinking when you're thirsty. Its necessary to life for me. So I'm vaping away for a few and I look down and there's liquid on the top around the atty and the firing button. There is also a lot of liquid on the inside of the door. I thought it was juice seeping up in the night. I then
take a paper towel and wipe it dry. I've been doing this for quite a few weeks now and giving it some thought but not much.

What it is is condensation forming. The Reo sit all night and cools down to room temperature. My holding and firing it causes areas to heat up and the liquid forms. I tasted the fluid and its absolutely water.

My excuse for taking so long to realize whats happening is that I am not awake enough when this happens to actually have any sort of reasoning power. By the time I'm awake I've pretty much forgotten about it and get on with my day.

Anyone else getting the condensation on theirs?

Interesting! I've not had this happen. Are you setting it near an a/c vent overnight? Has it been really humid?

I live in NETN and we're setting the rain record this year. Last year it was hot and dry. But I've never had the condensation happen and I chain vape too.

You sure some little critter isn't ...... on it while you sleep? ;)

Sounds like you need a dehumidifier since you're a "cellar dweller." --
"Place a dehumidifier in the room where the aluminum windows sweat and plug it in. Set the dial to maintain a humidity level of 40 percent if the outdoor temperature is around freezing. If you live in a very cold climate where temperatures reach below freezing, lower the humidity level a little at a time to a low of 15 percent, if needed, to stop the sweating."

Funny T :D Not that I haven't done that a few times and they get rained on despite living in semi-arid climate......

Try storing camera in closed bag with good sized desiccant packet, available on Amazon.

Or, assuming you have electricity (I never take that for granted) you could throw it into clothes dryer, on rack, or convection oven before going out and bag with desiccant pouch and into fridge if you want to use inside almost immediately after.... but all will cut out spontaneous shoots. Not totally kidding.

Or you could move to Hawaii or similar with pretty consistent temps and humidity inside and out.:D

Or settle for a cheap plastic camera with simple fixed lens. Really kidding here.

The humidity in TX is enough to take your breath away. Perhaps you also need a dehumidifier?

Our problem in TX is with too low humidity inside due to AC and going to high humidity outside. But not all parts of our vast state suffer high humidity. Typically my house is <15% humidity and outside is > 50%. And our area is moderate humidity in comparison to other areas.

Jen, in all seriousness..... fi n d the warmest place in your house to store your camera in bag. You might not have my "luxury" of having variations of 90 to 75 degrees all over my house during much or the year. Cold days it's 55-70 except in front of fireplace or on top of portable oil heaters or reptile warming pads (or front of catalytic heaters when no electricity - we are all electric) .

I lived in Kingwood (approx. 30 miles northeast of Houston proper -- north on 59). The first time my mother came to visit, she announced, "Deborah...you know I love you, right? I will never come to visit again." And, she didn't.

you must send me all REOs for extensive testing in my 0 humidity climate :p
