No REO sweat here. I would like to know if there are any secrets to avoid camera lens sweat. From a 70 degree house to 100 degrees outside it seems to take hours for it to acclimate. Especially when there is a magic moment happening. :grr:

The only way I can think of is to put your camera in a sealed plastic bag and leave it outside for a bit before you leave the house. Any condensation will be on the outside of the bag. By the time you go to use the camera the temperature of it should be near the temp outside the bag. Helps to have a lens cloth handy for the lens and viewfinder. And reverse this on cold temps outside before entering the house. Or you can just take pics and they'll be artistically soft and diffuse.

I do have a dehumidifier but don't run it all the time. Guess I should be running it more. They do use a lot of energy though. :(

120v dehumidifiers use almost as much electricity as 120v AC. On a side note when we used a big portable 120v AC in living room, open plan, to cool DH's hot corner, AC vented hot air and moisture outside, and it malfunctioned venting moisture, I had to empty the drain-off bucket at least 12 gallons of water a day. And that was with central AC also pulling a lot of moisture out of air. Pretty amazing. It was costly, too, to run that thing. Fixed the situation by two separate fans directing cool air to that corner and lowering central temp by a couple of degrees. Savings about $100 a month.

Do you mean something like this?

I do get condensation on the outside of my RM2 and sometimes the outside of the catchcup..but that is from me blowing vapor out my nose while taking the next drag and the leftover vapor oozing out of the air hole. The moisture collects there. But, never had it develop on the inside of my door. :?:

Heres pics of the sweating Reo. I just wipe it down and thats it for the day. This only happens first thing in the morning after a few minutes of holding the Reo and vaping.

Do you keep your room as cold as the inside of a refrigerator at night? Is the REO really cold when you grab it first thing in the morning? I can't imagine where all that moisture is coming from....do you have really, really, REALLY high humidity where you live?

.........and while we're at it: That poor REO. Your delrin cover is cracked? All those dinged corners.....maybe you should tell Santa Claus that you want a shiny new REO for Christmas. I know they last forever, but.....oh my goodness. :)

Respectfully,
Jan

LOL..funny guys. Maybe pdib is ...... on it, Didnt think of that. Doesn't taste like it. No dirt floors here. I don't feel its so humid in here. In fact that pic was taken this morning and the dehumidifier was on all day and night. I might have warm hands but I can't tell..lol. The derlin cover isn't cracked, thats just a water reflection. No damage to the batteries as this has been going on for a long time. A good wipe down and old faithful is ready to rock and roll. You aint gotta be pretty to be oh, oh soo good. :p
