Isn't that a bit harsh? I was thinking more like "paint him!" Something like this perhaps:

wicked-witch.jpg

:D <~ Or dat color. Dat color is good too.
hehehe Only those very deserving will be permitted to be painted purple! ;)

I have a question for you brainiacs...

the tube came off my grand and I can't get it back on! So I also pulled it out of the bottle..and now i also can't get the tube back in the bottle!!!!

HELP!!!!

:D
I was just going to add what someone else added......lube the tube with some juice also. Very helpful! After she does it a few times, it will be easier

I just tried raising the REO 510, 2 full turns. It still won't fire. I have no idea how to lower the 510 on the atty. I think the moral of this story is going to be to use the Manta on the Woodvils it likes, and use something else on that one Woodvil! It does seem weird, though, that the Manta will fire on a cherry Woodvil, but it won't fire on a maple one. Dunno.

Thanks for your help!
well looks like they covered it all. Two full turns shoulda did it, but at least ya know the atty works, and the woodvil works, they just don't work together.

Hmm..I have 4 or 5 Mantas. They are one of my favorites. They work on all of my Woodvils. In fact, they all fire with the REO adjustable pin screwed all the way down.

They are my favorites; I have 6 of them :). Seems to be just that particular Woodvil. I haven't tried putting a different Manata on it, yet, but I will.

Do you have a gap between the bottom of the atty and the mod? I do ... Perhaps a mm.

Yes, all of the Mantas have a small gap. In fact, I usually use an o ring in the rim of the 510 connector on the REO, so the gap isn't as visible. That's why it's puzzling that yours won't fire. If there's a gap, the 510s should be making contact, and it should fire.
Can you post pictures of the deck of the atty, and the underside of the atty, showing the center pin? There were a couple variations of the Mantas, depending on the batch. Also, at one point, Catfish changed the way he modded the center pins. Is this Manta one of the early clones, or an authentic?

All are Chowder authentics. I'm pretty sure I got them at the same time you did; he had two or three runs within a month and then there were no more. It was close to the time he did Stumpys.

I'll post pix, tonight. It would be wonderful if you can see the issue! Thanks. :)

Ok. 2 other questions. Maybe you answered them before, but I didn't scroll back.
Does this Manta work on other Woodvils or Grands?
Do other attys work on this particular Woodvil?

:DActually, I asked this for a friend cuz she's new to Reos and she was embarrassed to ask in here. She was gonna send it in to Rob just to reattach the tube:) so I told her that I'd post the question.
Well, I'm the embarrassed friend!
Kay was gracious enough to ask for me as I thought it was such a simple solution and I should have known the remedy.

As it turned out, I was able to get the tube into the cap from the bottom by twisting it via instructions.
However, I'm still having problems getting the tube into the REO. I've used water, VG, and it must be an extremely leak proof tube, cause I still haven't gotten it.

Will keep trying using VG. I hate to send it to the spa for something than can be remedied at home, but I may have to do just that.

Oh, and thank you to 'supertrunker' and 'puffon' for the tips......they did help!

Yes, this Manta does work on another Woodvil (also a 2015). I just found my emails to Chowder from when I bought them. They're all V2's, bought in May/June of last year.

And yes, I put a different atty (a Rogue) on that Woodvil and it fired.

What device are you using? Under normal circumstances i never recommend removing, say, the delrin cover on a Reo Grand, but if that's something that will give you better access to the nipple, then so be it. [insert smutty remark about nipple access here]

Usual cautionary note: the screw is finely threaded and it's easy to strip the hole it goes in - do not over tighten it when you re-fit it.

Refitting a tube should not be a reason for a Spa visit!

I was having a helluva time putting a tube on. Until I changed the way I was holding the tube. You need to hold it way up close to the end, close enough to force it on. You may already be doing this. But, I didn't finally do it until I was mad enough to force something to happen.

I hadn't thought of that. Gracie, do you have the shorter original pin or the longer adjustable pin?

@Flowersoul,
Try cutting the tube at a very slight angle. With one side positioned, you can press against it to enlarge the rest of the tube.

Good luck. I know it's frustrating.
Will try this in the next few minutes.......thank you!

I will look at this a lot more closely before attempting. Trying the angle cutting for now......
Will let you know when/if I've succeeded! OY!

Again, thank you!

It looks to be the longer pin! Oh yea, it's long and when I do finally get it on, I question whether I'll be able to raise it up to the top!

hey sweetie. I was gonna say the same thing as dancin, make sure you're holding the tube close up to where you're attaching it. Don't pinch the tube. I turn my Reo sideways so I can see where the nipple is......hold the tube close up, don't pinch. I don't remember if this is one with that has the adjustable 510 or not. It doesn't just slip right on, but if you're not having a bad hand day, you should be able to get it on there. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. If I wuz rich, I'd come see ya and help ya out!
