Hello Reonauts!

So after a long debate about my first mechanical mod, it was between the precise simplicity and the reo. I have finally concluded that the Reo is plunge I will take. I do have a few questions, so bear with me.

1. For a on the go vaper, which Reo would best suit my needs? I like the idea of the Mini 2.1 but don't know if it's too small. The only thing I have to compare it to is my only mod which is a pro-vari mini.

2. I hear there are only certain atty's that you can use for them. Bottom fed atty's I hear. Which would be the best bang for my buck?

3. Can you put a kick in these Reo's? Honestly I don't know exactly what they do other then they are "safer", but I also hear they can be a pain to take in and out with battery changes.

Any other tips, suggestions or the best type of wicking material to use. I will be chain-vaping like I always do on the Reo I choose.

I am very new to mech mods so I don't know all there is to know except that I want to try sub ohm vaping and I have heard nothing but amazing things from the Reo. Also the bottom fed tank looks pretty darn cool. THanks guys for putting up with me!

The Grand is not that big.

With the bigger battery and bottle it will do great with sub-ohm vaping.

If you are not into RBA's then Reosmods sells some good attys at a great price!

3. Can you put a kick in these Reo's? Honestly I don't know exactly what they do other then they are "safer", but I also hear they can be a pain to take in and out with battery changes.
You can put a kick in them. The Grand and Mini 2.1 and 2.0. You really don't need them with a RBA and a low ohm coil.

Any other tips, suggestions or the best type of wicking material to use. I will be chain-vaping like I always do on the Reo I choose.
Cotton is great! It is all I use in my RBA's. Reosmods sells small quantities of the silica and wire.

I am very new to mech mods so I don't know all there is to know except that I want to try sub ohm vaping and I have heard nothing but amazing things from the Reo. Also the bottom fed tank looks pretty darn cool. THanks guys for putting up with me!

Wow, that grand is not that big at all. I thought was alot bigger. Now im torn between the grand and the mini 2.1. And im all about RBA's, only have a RSST atm but I will obviously need something else for the Reo. Can't wait to order one of these bad boys.

Hello Silense and welcome to the tribe!

There will be a pack of natives swarming you with info swiftly. In the meantime, I'll try to answer as good as I can.

1) You want a REO Grand. It has the better battery options and it is just a tad taller than the 2.1. You mention chain vaping -> REO Grand
2) Get a Reomizer 2 together with the Grand - they are on reosmods.com as well.
3) You can kick the REOs, especially the Grand. But that would negate the performance advantage the mechanical mods offer. If you want to go regulated in a bottom feeder, get a REO VV Grand instead of the Kick.

Read the micro coil threads in this forum - the wicking material you will end up with will either be cotton or silica.

Again, welcome!

Chris

The larger battery in the Grand does great with RM2 vaping. I can do a coil from 1.0 to 2.0 and it hits like a train! The RBA's with lower coils do pull more from the battery. But I am very pleased at the lasting power of the AW IMR.

The VV Grand is good if you don't want to go below a 1.5 to 1.8 coil. You can use the settings to get just the hit you want.

I would say get the Grand. It is easy to use, clean and maintain. Not much can go wrong with the mechanical REO.

Hi Silense. I strongly agree with the Reo Grand and a Reomizer 2. It's an unbeatable combo for trouble free on the go. I would also suggest a mod safe fuse for some extra protection. Here's the link. Oh and if you need IMR 18650's, this is also a great place for those. They have great prices on chargers, I use the Nitecore i4. I'm sure more Reonauts will chime in soon. Good luck with whatever you choose! I'm Ed....

I don't see the link lol. Maybe I am missing something. But ya I do think the Grand is the option for me. I am always on the go and running out of battery power is just a pain. I was thinking the reomizer also, seeing as how it's made for the Reo. I have seen the micro-coil thread, and it seems easy enough, though I have not had much success with micros on my RSST but the REO is a completely different beast. Thanks guys for being so helpful. If all of you are so enthusiastic about the reo's then they must be the ultimate end-all vape mod.

You can use a shortstop (similar to the vapesafe) with either the 1600 mah or 2000mah. It goes between the battery and one of it's contacts and will shut down the circuit if there's a short. After about a 1 minute cooldown (time to find and fix the short), it's functional again. Here's a pic with the 2000mah and shortstop.

That said, I've used both, and honestly, next time around I'm getting the 1600's. They're less expensive, and since you'll probably switch it out at 3.7 volts or so, there isn't enough difference (that I can tell) to justify the extra cost.

The spring on a grand will collapse if you get a short in your atomizer, making the battery fall away from the firing pin. A fuse is a dime sized wafer that fits between the spring and batt. If you should short out the mod (the most common cause is an improperly built coil), the fuse is resetable. And you're right back in business. I've never shorted out a mod and it doesnt happen all that often, but it sure is a good idea to have that extra protection.

What exactly does a vape-safe fuse do? Sorry for 101 questions. Just want to be well-informed. But I am more excited for this mod then my first Pro-Vari. Im guessing it will blow it out of the water.

after having my mini 2.1 for a couple weeks, I have sold my ProVari.

Now I see a Grand in my future! :2cool:
