Glad to hear your mom is doing ok. I've know several other vendors that have had problems with website designers. What's worse is for the time you've been down they should have been able to completely redesigned the site from scratch and have an operation store front up and running.

So it's not how the merchant account services are integrated (coded) into the website, but a backend issue with the service itself. That sucks
