Hello! Newbie here. :)

So I got a used Reo Grand, it's vaping like a champ but it's got some minor cosmetic scratches on its black wrinkle finish from its former owner. So I wonder, would it be a good idea to repaint this? Has anyone done it? What kind of paint does the Reo come with and how hard is it to remove? I've never painted on aluminum before, any prep work needed to be done?

Thanks!

I did some painting on a REO. It's hard to find something that will hold up over time. (especially the edges, corners & such) If you're looking at little dings and scratches, I'd suggest touch up over a whole big painting project. (Not that it can't work . . . . but I know for a fact that it can "not work")

Black nail polish? I did an image on my REO in nail polish and its held up great over months of daily use.

You are right. The corners and edges probably won't hold up as well with paint compared to the stock coating. I guess that idea is out the window. I don't mind the scratches that much though, it gives the mod a bit of character. :)

When I bought my E30, I fixed every thing up but the steering wheel even though the leather was cracked in multiple places since I felt it told the story of the former owner and the car as a whole. I think I'll do the same with this mod.

I guess I'm sentimental that way. :D

Thanks for the advice!
