i have a clone nemesis from angelcig that was working fine for about a month or so but i am now finding the bottom cap/switch is getting warm with any moderate chain vaping. no the battery is NOT getting hot or even warm at all before anyone jumps on me for battery safety.

i do know enough about electrical to know that i have a bad contact and the amperage being drawn through the switch is causing the heat.

is there a way to improve the existing contact through resurfacing it or are all the contacts the same so that i can simply replace them with better ones?

and to preempt some of the " you bought a clone serves you right" comments. my budget right now will not allow for a 200.00 mech mod atm.

TIA

I have a clone Nemesis and I understand about tight budgets so you won't get any heat (pardon the pun) from me about clones. Also in regards to battery safety: all we ask is that you make sure you are using a good quality battery for the job. the lowest atty i have is 1 ohm so i can use an 8c efest 18350 but for endurance i use sony vtc3 30 amp batteries in my nemesis.

Have you tried taking the switch apart yet? You should be able to unscrew the silver plated negative contact all the way out which will allow you to get to the switch. Take care when you do this and i recommend getting a gallon size zip lock bag to take the switch apart in as there is a little pin that allows you to screw the switch into the device. It should come apart and allow you to remove the threads and the spring. the spring may be secured by another spring which i had removed as that is a potential short.

You may find debris in the switch assembly so take a brush of some sort (an old tooth brush will do) and brush everything out and off. also use the brush on the threads to clean any build up in there out which will also help improve conductivity (you can brush the threads of your mod clean too while you are at it). after that get some q tips and rubbing alcohol and clean the threads and all of the contact areas thoroughly and brush off all of the threads and contact areas again. after that if you want to make sure they are clean take a hand cleaning cloth (or baby wipes if you have small children) and give everything a good once over with that.

I do this to my nemesis clone at least once a week if not twice. It helps keep the conductivity up and the mod free of any pocket junk and debris. When chain vaping I have not noticed any heat accumulating in the switch or battery.
