Hoog- I got 1 of these in June and it has been my ProVaris trusty lil' backup since then. It stopped working for me last week. Nothing happened to it. I was using it, set it down, picked it up for another drag and...nothing. :( I checked everything I could multiple times. It's just dead.

I am mediocre at modding but willing to try to repair it. Using the building walkthough on your website blog as reference,
Var Volt Inst-4.jpg

I am suspicious that the (B) resistor is burned out since I get continuity readings from the (C) resistor but not from (B) when I check the exposed solder points on the back of the board. I don't know.

How do I remove the hot glue globs so I can take it apart and attempt a fix?

I had to repair my VV boxmod a while back to replace the switch, it was getting stuck in the on position. The hot glue had me stumped for a bit until I remembered it was HOT GLUE. I took a hair dryer and let it blow on the glue until it was hot to the touch. Then it came out in big chunks with tweezers. It took a few times of heating it up and picking out whatever glue I could but eventually I got it all out.
