Kind of a shoot in the dark but I figured I'd post.

Anybody got a source for replacement RSST bottom insulators? Specifically, the white insulator housed in the 510.

Got cute with my torch, RSST looks rad and matches my Mortar, but I melted that insulator.

Currently using a spare deck insulator off a DID but it aint perfect. The RSST's center post has a tendency to get pushed up from time to time.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I got an RSST from a co-op and it arrived with most of the bottom insulator pushed out of the 510 connection. I had to take it all the way out to remove the center post, and now, I can't get it back in. I tried everything I could think of, and no go. Then I tried using a silicone center post insulator from an AGA-T, but it won't hold the post tightly enough to resist the upward pressure of the positive connection spring. Are you getting at least some performance using the DID insulator? I have a couple of CHIDs laying around - don't know if they use the same insulator - or if the CHID has one at all, for that matter - but I might give that a try. Working a little is better than not working at all. Hope you find your source for the RSST insulator, and if you do, please share your secret for getting it back in the base :)

If anyone knows the thread spec of the center-post that would be helpful.

HEY, Lavaca. Send me that insulator :D:D:D haha. I would try sanding down the insulator, like 1000 grit. If there is a lip or edge that will stop the insulator from being pushed all the way into the tank section you can get away with a lot to sanding... If not (I don't really remember) then I would lightly sand it down, lube it up (hah), and tap it on in with a punch :/ haha sorry, but yeah, it should work.

My MMV spares are precious to me. The only reason I used the DID spacer is because I had previously melted it on a super hot wrap.

Unfortunately I don't think a Chid spacer will work.
