So let me ask a possibly stupid question.. does this work on the lower ohm versions or not? My understanding is that the top does not, in fact, wiggle off as easily in the lower ohm version. My understanding, from watching the threads, is that this second batch is assembled much tighter and makes pulling the tube off much more difficult and more prone to cracking.

I saw a video on taking this version apart, but it involved tools that I have no hope in ever owning.

What say you, vaping community?

If you mean this video, this requires a big pair of pliers to hold the metal skirt so you can wiggle off the tube. If you don't have access to pliers, then I'm not sure you'll be able to get it apart.

Oh, Gods of Gotvapes, is there any way to make it so the metal skirts are easier to come off? A simple screw or snap or something? Once the skirt comes off, taking it apart is a cinch.

Well I do actually have pliers.. and masking tape (around here somewhere!) so I guess I can give it a shot on one of the gunkier Stardusts I have. If I crack the tube, it wouldn't be so much a loss. Cool beans!

Some people have found just using pliers without masking tape works better, though it scratches up the skirt. Also, if you do happen to bend the skirt (flatten it a little), don't worry, just use the pliers to squeeze it back into shape. (I've done that a few times!)

any plans to have replacements for the silicon cup that holds the coils on the center post? I lost one while washing lol

right down the sink!

a hot-rodded a silicon ring from a dead carto into working for me, but it's a PITA to get into position

also lost one of the donuts for the mouthpiece and the top hat thing that goes in the metal washer on top of the post, but neither has affected a thing for me draw/function wise

Chris/Dan - Do you plan on getting replacement tubes for the Stardust any time soon? I know most of the Stardust you have sold do not have the crack issue but I'm sure there are a few folks in the same boat as me out of the second batch that had them come in the package with hairline cracks straight out of the package. They weren't DOA so I know I'm SOL getting them replaced but if you could please have your supplier toss a hundred or so extra tubes in with your next shipment and sell them at a fair price I would gladly grab a few.

Would this interest anyone else?

As far as I'm concerned thats DOA. I'd send um back. JMHO

Cheers,

if you get a stardust and you look at it and it has cracks which you can see if they do while in the package, then of course you can send it back, as long as its not used and has cracks, we stand by our doa policy.
