So I'm guessing lizard you haven't seen the Facebook group called Vape Auctions. USED mods being sold for $1600-2000. Yes I ....z you not, 2k for a friggin mod and it's not even gold plated at least. We live in a consumer crazy society where traditional values have been flushed down the crapper. Quigs is spot on, something is worth whatever some crazy guy with money to throw is willing to dish out.
Mod makers making solid silver mods with diamonds selling for 4k, I'm not making this up, it's real. 200 bucks is chicken feed compared to what's being sold and bought.
I think the human race is lost track, lights are on but nobody home

I haven't seen the auctions. They sound interesting and enough to probably make some people want to "throw themselves in the dirt." I think Quigs and you are both spot on because you guys recognize that the monopoly money mod market is caused by consumers. Whom may or may not be delusional, depending on your personal beliefs. ;)

I suffer from it as well to a certain extent. I don't need 5 or 6 REO's but I still have them and will be buying more. :)

When I originally posted I knew I would cause a little stir, but that wasn't my sole intention, but more of a bi-product of the nature of my comment. My intention was to maybe make people think about what a mod was really worth and not the feeding frenzied bidding war worth. Way back when, I posted that I kind of expected that these resin mods would be less expensive because of the material. That brought out the people who needed to make sure I knew that they would pay twice as much for their REO and that I didn't really know the true value of what I had. Those opinions are what made me post what I did. I just trying to insite some thought.

All we really have to do to see what a fair price is for our REO's is to look at what Rob sells them for. He's not in the business of giving mods away and not making some money. Nor is he out to try to soak us like other mod makers.

I'm sure there would be some pretty irritated people in Reovil if someone were to buy a few extra woodvils and promptly put them in the classies for $600 because that's what they're "worth"

I totally get your point and I could give you a personal example that would reinforce your point. I know there are vapers out there (not you) that are happy with their 50 to 90 dollar devices and think paying anymore than that is a waste and not worth it. They would be 100% correct and I would agree….for them. Bottom line is a product is worth what you want and willing to pay for it and actual cost really doesn’t matter nor factor into it….not really. Anyway that’s my take on the subject.

This conversation could get dangerously close to being political. You have those who believe everyone has the right to make a fair profit and those who believe everyone has the right to make as much as they can. Neither is necessarily wrong. You'll have consumers who refuse to buy things that just anyone can afford and those who refuse to buy things they think are over priced for what you get.

I certainly know where you're coming from or going to, but I believe the same as a few others have posted here that unfortunately the devices are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Its a shame really, but as put a while back, how can you keep someone from throwing their money away, it's theirs to do with it as they see fit.

There are some people out there that know no better and have been taken advantage of, certainly on Ebay, and was frowned upon very heavily here in REOville just a year ago after the last Woodvil run. A couple or REOnauts, (I still think it was the same individual and imo a bad REOnaut at that), bought a couple Woodvils on sale night and promptly posted them on Ebay for in the $500ish range. Now granted they had Cyclones or ERA's on top, but still, way overpriced and to my recollection, they did sell and I don't think the person or persons have been back here because of the beat down that was laid upon them here in the forum... I haven't seen a Woodvil on Ebay in some time, but they pop up occasionally and the price is usually way more than what you can buy them in the classies for, but maybe that is why they list them on Ebay, is that they can catch that unsuspecting individual that knows no better and is willing to throw down the loot for the taking...

I can remember a short while back there were some Billet Boxes that were fetching $600+ all day long and selling like hot cakes over there. Here in the forum there were a lot of, "hot under the collar" individuals ranting and raving cause they couldn't get one on sale night, yet here were people buying them with the intention to sell them over there to begin with...
