I haven't seen the auctions. They sound interesting and enough to probably make some people want to "throw themselves in the dirt." I think Quigs and you are both spot on because you guys recognize that the monopoly money mod market is caused by consumers. Whom may or may not be delusional, depending on your personal beliefs.
I suffer from it as well to a certain extent. I don't need 5 or 6 REO's but I still have them and will be buying more.
When I originally posted I knew I would cause a little stir, but that wasn't my sole intention, but more of a bi-product of the nature of my comment. My intention was to maybe make people think about what a mod was really worth and not the feeding frenzied bidding war worth. Way back when, I posted that I kind of expected that these resin mods would be less expensive because of the material. That brought out the people who needed to make sure I knew that they would pay twice as much for their REO and that I didn't really know the true value of what I had. Those opinions are what made me post what I did. I just trying to insite some thought.
All we really have to do to see what a fair price is for our REO's is to look at what Rob sells them for. He's not in the business of giving mods away and not making some money. Nor is he out to try to soak us like other mod makers.
I'm sure there would be some pretty irritated people in Reovil if someone were to buy a few extra woodvils and promptly put them in the classies for $600 because that's what they're "worth"
