Resistance???

I have a igo-w, it vapes great, but I've noticed that every time I build a coil it will start with a certain resistance like 1.3, but then upon pulling the cap to drip it moves to like 2.5. I checked my connections and they are tight. Why is it doing that?

Well what sort of wire are you using, wraps, diameter. Maybe even a pic will help solve this riddle.

If you are getting 1.3 cap on
and 2.5 Cap off, likely the Coil is brushing the Cap and partially shorting. Remember Shorting on the Ground side will cause minimal drop. Shorting on the Positive side of the coil creates a Dead Short.
Cap is resting on O-rings also so only light base contact if pressed down firmly. otherwise it is isolated.

I made sure it's not pressing on the cap, I think the cap may be hitting the cotton and the cotton is moving the coil. I made a micro coil with 28. Kanthal, around 10 wraps I think. It started out testing at 1.6 which is fine for me on a regulated mod

It's not shorting. The resistance is higher with the cap on. Strange (or futile ). Well, the resistance is going up not down so it's safe to vape, specially on a regulated mod. How does it do? What is the resistance after firing it a few times?

The only time I've seen an increase in ohms it's been a screw loose, and it was on an Igo-W. It felt tight but wiggling the wire exposed it. Tightened the screw down and it was fixed.

Be careful, at the same build party/class mine cut the wire when I tightened the screw.

With post holes, I've found sometimes after tightening the screw, after awhile it seems like the wire will sort of move inside the post and the screw needs further tightening.
