Hi all,
I ordered a Provari Mini last week and ended up returning it because it was so heavy. I've had a few surgeries on my wrist and holding the PV made my wrist and arm hurt. I didn't realize how big & heavy it was when I saw pics of guys holding it. I did watch quite a few youtube reviews before purchasing...

Anyway, is there anything comparable that's smaller? I ordered a V-tube (mini) thinking it would be smaller but all the mods I've looked at that take a battery are about the same size... unless I'm missing something. :) I've been using ego's with clearomizers and kanger mini tanks.

Thanks! Tami

The only way to get smaller and lighter is to not have VV. Just a tube, a switch, and a battery.

But, first a couple of questions.
  • Is VV essential?
  • If you put 2 18350 batteries in your hand, is that still too heavy?
If 2 18350s is too heavy, stick with eGo batteries because the weight of one 18350 plus the weight of the mod is going to be at least that heavy.

If VV is essential, stick to Twists or Spinners.

Otherwise, there are lots of tiny generic tube mods out there to choose from. It all depends on what you need.

ETA: I don't know much about small VV box mods. But, if you don't need VV, there's always a simple 3.7 V box mod. It uses a 14500 battery, very small and light.

Thanks :) I guess I don't know too much about them so I never considered one...

I asked because another member on here has very bad arthritis and mostly uses Reos (there are full-sized and mini ones). It a different type of system, but certainly not as heavy.

I got the Vtube Mini this week (First Time Vaper) because a friend recommended it to me. It was bigger than I thought. Turned out it wasn't the one he recommended lol. It was another Apollo. I like it though. It is huge, but the hit is nice and the battery lasts a long time. Two days so far and it seems to have a lot more in the tank.

That's what crossed my mind as well. I have a 1" x 2.5" 3.7v box mod that weighs about as much as a 15ml bottle of juice. With a LR CE3 Xl clearo it's lovely.

There are some 650mAh eGo battery systems out there. Paired with an EVOD or a M/T3, they're small and very lightweight. However, using variable voltage with a relatively low capacity battery might leave you frustrated if you only get one (or even two) and you vape a lot.

I was puzzled by the fact that you returned such a fine, US-made PV system because it weighed a few ounces more than you expected. It's a mod, made of metal, with a large capacity battery. Those things are gonna be a bit heavier than a little old eGo battery and a little tankomizer.

No, two 18350 batteries alone aren't too heavy.

I've only been vaping for a couple months and have been trying to learn about different devices reading the forum, etc. I guess I thought VV was the way to go because I like to get a good draw, throat hit and I like the vape to be a bit warm. Maybe I'm wrong thinking that VV is what I want??

I wanted something a little bigger than the ego because the vivi nova mini and kanger pro tank are a bit big and make it feel top heavy. Also, I don't like how the ego's perform after they've been used for a few hours. I want a device that is more consistent. I feel like the C4 clearomizers are my best choice on the ego and I will still use those when I'm away from home...

There is a little Spinner - I'll look for it. I used regular 650mAh eGos for months until I got a Twist, btw.

The Rider Robust or Itaste V3 are probably the best bet if you want VV or VW. But, if not, there are lots and lots of simple tubes or boxes that take just one small 18350 or 14500 battery that are 3.7 V.

Just look around on Mad Vapes or on Smoke Revolt. They both have several small 3.7 V, very cheap mods.
