A little over a year ago I owned a beautiful Reo Mini, modified to fit a 18490. I used it quite often until the hype of these variable volt/variable wattage devices began to swarm the market. Needless to say I bought into the hype and have been running a Provari, and iTaste VTR since, but I've had to replace each device at least once due to switch failure or some other electronic mishap; and my VTR is beginning to bug out. Fed up with this I decided to revive my old dusty Reo Mini, and although I love the simplicity, design, and output I want something more.

Over the weekend, I decided to join the rda community and finally begin building my own coils. What better way to start my journey into rebuildables than with a shiny new Reo Grand and Reomizer. It shipped today, and I'm already losing patience waiting for it to arrive. It has been a while since I had trouble waiting for a mod with this much anticipation!

Now I am simply watching coil build videos and checking the clock in hopes of these next few days pass by quickly.

I ordered the LP Tumbled. I'm a bit worried right now, though. I checked the tracking and it has "signature confirmation" on the features. If it requires a signature that means I will have to pick it up at the post office, and I won't be able to get to the post office until Friday. I may need to sneak away from work early on the date it arrives to make the post office. Reo first, work second.

If you can catch your mailman, or stop by the PO before delivery date, ask for a peach signature require slip and fill it out and leave it in your mailbox. I keep those on hand and my mail man takes the slip and leaves the box. I'm in an apartment, so my mailbox is locked.

Thanks for the welcomes and tips. I'll have to check into the peach slips for the signature. Granted, my local post office is filled with certified crazies. The mail lady typically drag races other cars on the street and has been known to smash a fare share of mail boxes in the process. Those inside, they're not much better. It may just be easier to duck out of work early. I would only have to leave an hour early, and my boss is pretty laid back - it shouldn't be too much trouble.

As for the coil building I'm super excited. I have rebuilt a fare share of protank coils, but the limited space in there is quite annoying. I've been using silica wicking, but I'm tempted to try out cotton. Cotton does worry me in the fact that it can burn where silica doesn't, but silica is simply fiberglass so I guess in a sense they both have dangers. What other types of wicking is there? I've seen stainless steel mesh although I'm not familiar with how that would work.

Welcome back!! Give it a minute and you'll forget you ever left. Thankfully I did all the dabbling I could take BEFORE finding Reoville and I've never looked back. I've found that I control how hot or cool my vape is by the coils I build so honestly I don't see the point of vv/vw. That's just me though. I had nothing but issues with my Zmax and don't miss it 1 bit!! lol

I use Bamboo and ceramic. The Bamboo is three times more absorbent than cotton and tastes better if you forget to squonk and get a dry hit. Aunt Lydias Bamboo Crotchet Thread size 10 natural color is what I use. It can be sourced from Walmart dot com if you can't find it at a Hobby Lobby or Michaels. $2.49 for 300 yards of it and you only need about an inch and a half per wick. If you order it from Wally World it will be delivered to your local store. Ceramic is a little harder to come by the most preferred dealer is READYxWICKâ„¢ they are out of stock right now and you want the 2 mm size. It is also on the pricey side at 8 bux per foot. Both wicks that I made in January are still in service today. You also only need about a half inch of wick per coil. That should be around 7,000 wicks.

One other question: what batteries should I be using. Currently I'm running the AW IMR 18650, but given the possibilities of creating sub-ohm coils could this cause any issue? Is there a minimum to keep in mind? I've read people creating 0.3 - 0.6 ohm coils and only wonder what danger lurks within that set up from battery damage.

AW IMR 18650 1600 Mah is the preferred battery for this mod. The 1600 Mah is even better than the 2000 Mah because it stays at the high output longer. I know it doesn't sound right but it is.

really? thought maybe the vtc4 or vtc5's would be better... ugh now to order more bats!

Going that low could melt the button or collapse the spring. People have been doing a fuse mod because of this. But rob will be stocking a new kit with a low voltage drop and can handle sub ohm. I would personally wait going below .6 until you do one of those. Keep in mind the fuse mod will break warranty
