Hi,
I recently bought the revenger X mod. I had to Google to find out how to change the time on the clock. When I finally figured it out, I ran into another issue. It would fire once, or twice, and then not. When I looked at the screen, the clock was showing & I'd have to either keep clicking or wait a few seconds and press the fire button & it would fire again. This was getting very aggravating. I decided to try an experiment...I turned the clock off & voila, the issue went away. Turned it back on & problem returned so I ended up turning the clock off for good. Now, the reason this is an issue for me is that I paid, in my opinion, a lot of money for this mod & the clock was a plus for me. Now I can use the clock, and stay aggravated, or I can keep it turned off & lose one of the features I liked the most. Has anyone else run into this issue and , if so, how do you "fix" it?

Howdy and welcome :) I don’t own it either but you may have actually solved a problem for another member. Iirc there was a guy having the button problem and didn’t know why. This smells like software and something vapresso should want to fix. It’s not impossible they may already have done so. Have you tried updating the firmware?

I am sorry oh are *ahem* so “ticked about your clock” though

I don't have that mod I'm sorry. I would be equally annoyed. I hope that someone with that mod comes along to help you, though. Could try a reset, but I'd imagine (possibly) that there might be a firmware update as well that might help with this issue, I just don't know what it might be.

Good luck,

Anna
Thanks anyway

I haven't tried a firmware update yet but that's my next try. I hope you didn't hurt yourself laughing at your own pun :)

I don't have the X but have three of the minis running the latest firmware and we do not have this issue. In researching the mods I do remember coming across some posts about something like this with an early firmware version so it may be worth a try. If that doesn't fix it return it for a replacement. We have really enjoyed the Vaporesso chip. It's working well for us in TC and VW.

Hi there sorry you’re having issues w the Revenger X. I have the X and have had no issues with it. You do know that it auto locks or turns off when inactive for a specific amount of time. It should then instruct you to press the fire button 3 times. I guess this could be annoying to some but I like it so I know if it’s in my bag or on my bed it won’t accidentally fire.

Have you tried the Reset as suggested above? I would do that before anything else.

Also Vaporesso has FB pages dedicated to all their mods. I messaged them last week with a question and the replied within several hours. There are also several tutorial videos that are more informative than the “manual” that comes with it.

Good luck hope you get it working.

Yes, I know it auto locks but that's not the issue. Mine just wouldn't fire when the clock was "on". I could take maybe two puffs & then it wouldn't respond. That was immediately after the first two puffs & not a lot of time had passed. Like I said, as long as the clock is turned off, I haven't had the problem. I'll try & reset or see if there's an update to the firmware and see if that fixes it. Thanks :)

I actually just got this mod a week ago and started noticing it happening. Your right its not the same as the safety lock. Ive tried clicking 3 times, 5 times, I end up yanking the battery because its unresponsive. Which Im nervous about because I think thats why ive had two Aliens stop working out of nowhere. Have you figured it out yet?

I'll start by saying I had an Alien (gave it away, was only using it to charge batteries, most disappointing mod ever but they Smok is trying hard to redeem themselves after that mod). We started up a new vape shop on Friday and after putting together our entire initial stock order I chose the Revenger X Kit as my personal daily driver. I've had it about 4 days and very quickly noticed what I first thought was a button issue with firing this mod. I did also notice that with every non-fire the clock was indeed still displaying the entire time. One partial fix I found was 5x fire to power off and then turn it back on, the issue does not immediately re-present after the power-cycle but does come back eventually. I disabled the clock and it has yet to present again, so I am going to personally settle on firmware issue/bug on the clock feature combined with auto-fire protection, even though the smart on/off feature was turned off (some mod features combine common code on different functions separated by different config flags, obviously with potential for conflict). I am not yet seeing any explicit search listings for firmware updates for the Revenger X but will keep looking and will post back if anything changes either with the mod or firmware searches on my end. As with some bugs, the exact presentation may vary and be inconsistent between different configs. See if your Smart On/Off is enabled or disabled? In my case I do know I had checked it out but disabled it shortly after, but my firing issue started after that point so I cannot say it is or isn't related (but for the first 1.5 days had no issues but then the issue started to present around the 2nd or 3rd day, possibly later the same day I checked out the Smart On/Off function). I know it's extremely frustrating but I am not too concerned about the clock function as I noticed quickly that the clock quickly loses accuracy, but my gut says the two functions are closely coded together so I would think a firmware update may correct it if/when the update becomes available. I know it's not a solution but I hope it helps. I love the mod but I was about to warranty the device out through our supplier until I came across these few threads on the exact issue. I love the mods form factor, output capacity and performance and didn't want to part with it and judging by the specific circumstances in which the issue presents I highly doubt warrantying out the device would correct the issue if the replacement device was rocking the same firmware.

At this point, two hours after, I can confirm that two hours after disabling the clock the firing issue is resolved. Hopefully we will get a firmware update to fix that issue (maybe even the clock's accuracy as well).

I saw this thread when I first got my X kit, about 2 months ago. I’m not having the issues you guys are having. No not firing, clock is on and seems accurate enough, although truth be told, I haven’t paid close attention to that.

I’ll keep an eye on it and report back if there’s a problem. But the only time I noticed it wrong was after taking the batteries out to charge. It kept all the other settings, just not date and time.

Maybe I got a newer one, already updated? No idea, all this tech is new to me.
