HHV Mocha Java Smooth
18 mg, 50 PG/50 VG

Overall Rating: 1.5/5

Flavor: 1/5
Authenticity: 1/5
TH: 5/5
Vapor: 4/5
Color: Dark maple syrup
Order again? NO

HHV Mocha Java Smooth hits my palate like a hammer made of compacted, perfumey Cheetos. I can detect no mocha or other chocolatey taste, and no java or other coffee taste. Just sweet perfumey Cheetos (others call this flavor burnt popcorn).

I can't vape this.

TH is excellent. Vapor is good.

I got burnt popcorn taste from it, as you mention. YUCK!

If your ordering from HHV and not trying the NETs then your missing out. Kinda like going to Outback and ordering a hotdog (someone help out if this doesn't apply to OPs country please).

I see how you can get a negative perspective based on the "hype\trendyness", I cant stand Apple myself:) even though their products are good for specific uses\scenarios.

But damn, I tried 6 of heather's NETs so far and only 1 is so-so (which I will revisit again shortly, definitely not throwing it away though), the other 5 are re-order in largest size possible. Will be trying 1 or 2 non-NET flavors on my re-order this time, plus some of the NETs I missed, so ill chime on them at that time. Those NETs are so damn good. Some are like candy with a hint of something real packed in there, more like dessert vapes but man I can take em all day long! Plus they don't seem to wreck the coils like my other favs do, so its nice to always keep them loaded as a failsafe for traveling/work.

I don't really believe in the steeping process yet. I don't leave the caps off either, I cant fathom how that would be good unless there is alcohol. In my experience, if it isn't vapable out of the mail I haven't come around to liking it later on anything I have tried. Now I can see how some may get somewhat "better" with steeping, but it wont turn a nasty juice to a good juice for me. Shadow in particular was a little too sweet for me but after a few weeks it mellowed out and is now top notch. But it wasn't like I hated it out of the box, it was just OK. Others may disagree, just my own experience. I have yet to get the alcohol taste\smell out of 1 particular organic vendor that I wont name after 3 months. Yuck! If Heather is using alcohol for NET extraction, she is doing something right as I cant smell or taste it. (side note I cant stand hard liquor anymore more just because of smell....makes me sick before I even drink it)

Also don't believe in the "vape it till you like it"... ...? With some juices i'd be puking. That sounds like something someone on a deserted island may have to do because they have no other choice. F-that. Ill give (and ship for free) anyone saying that some of my JC juices I tried and see how long they can go....I bet not very friggin long.

I wouldn't write HHV of without trying the NETs, you may get disgusted with yourself later if you do ever try. Maybe do the small sample pack so you don't waste jack trying (but shipping may cause this to be not worth it based on your comments earlier). Don't be turned of because of the tobacco .... they are more dessert like then tobacco I think. But the tobacco adds the unknown hint of something in there that kinda cures the craving somehow. Its weird to me ..??

Or maybe I just have that "weird palate". I don't think I can be too far off if she has two of the top juices in the polls (notice they both are NETs). I just wasted a bunch of time writing this for you that I didn't have to ...... take it for what its worth. Just trying to help out another vapor as I myself have wasted a bunch of cake on lame juices already, especially trying these sweet, fruity, desserty flavors I thought would be good. But maybe that is your taste your looking for, then MBV\dekang may be the way to go, don't know. If so, I see fasttech was selling dekang for next to nothing with free world wide shipping, might help you out :)

PS I was going to give the carmel cap a go on my re-order so I will let you know if I get the perfumy Cheetos too :)

Heh heh... Wow... I had the opposite experience.

First off... Thank you... To me, those were some pretty great reviews... I went to HHV for pretty much the same reason as you... "The next step up".

I find they definitely have a signature "similarity" to most of the 15-20 I tried... But, (and I LOVE strong flavor), I found some of mine to be way TOO much flavor?! (an easy fix to water down)

Weird huh?

At this point, I just don't know what to think... Either you or I got an 'off' batch?

I agree Mocha Java Smooth is nasty. It also destroys whatever your using. I tried soaking in vodka, water, etc. and you just can't get the flavor out. I also tried Just Peachy and Parrot's head, which could be good, but you can barely taste the good flavor they have. Black & Blue, Peach Green Tea, and Bah-in are pretty good, where you can at least taste the flavors without trying to, but also could be upped a bit. I'm more into tobacco flavors and have tried Dragon's Fire, Legend, Oompa, Pirate's Booty, Vapin' Chimp and thought they were ok. The ones that are outstanding to me are Dark Horse and Huntsman. Those are the only 2 out of all of those that I reorder. You can also add menthol if you're into that. I've tried it with no menthol, mild, and medium, and have settled with medium. really good tobacco flavor with no floral or chemical taste. I don't believe you need to steep it either. The other one that sticks out in my mind, is Captivape's Newport. really nice menthol with a smooth light tobacco taste. It could use a stronger tobacco taste and I have them tone down the menthol a bit, but it's really good. surprisingly, I don't see many reviews for it.

Juices are personal, tastes are individual blah blah blah... That's obvious and doesn't need the be re-stated because you like a juice that gets a bad review. These reviews were well thought out, well formatted, and helpful. We read these things because we want to see what's out there and what other people like. OP controlled for gear and gets better flavor from other vendors' juices.

...and good thing we all don't like the same exact juices, because we all know how well that has worked out for Boba's and Pluid devotees who don't have the time to sit in front of a computer 24/7 and wear out F5 waiting for the 10 minute window that the magical liquids are actually available for sale. OP doesn't like the HHV juices, so more for those that do. I don't see the problem.

FWIW I, too was disappointed by my HHV order, but I was trying everything under the sun looking for a juice that I loved and knowing what I know now, I would never have ordered the flavors that I did at the time. The NETs taste too much like a cigarette to me, and although I love good tobacco flavors when I was smoking them, I find that I don't gravitate to tobacco flavors when I am vaping them. I am also glad that I am not the only one that got a cheese flavor with the mocha java smooth. I was very close to puking when I first tried this flavor. It wasn't my gear, or the steeping, or anything else. Just wasn't for me.

HHV gets a ton of love here, and that's a good thing. OP's reviews are not going to change that, but I am glad to see some balance. There is this weird thing with juice reviews where the hive gets behind a particular juice/vendor and it snowballs. Then the throngs of new vapers look at these products and go order based on a mountain of positive reviews and a lot of them are going to be disappointed. It's not about being contrarian just to troll or anything, but seeing reviews that are both positive and negative is helpful, IMHO.

Just my two cents. Thanks for taking the time to do these reviews.

As has already been stated. Love your format for review. A little confused on what you mean by authenticity (perhaps I'm that newb ;)) But, just to clarify what I think you mean... (flavor as compared to description? Or, your thoughts of what the flavor should come across as?)

Also thanks for the reviews specific to HHV. I was also thinking of ordering there, and guess I will just stick with a few small bottles (since 70/30 wont work for me). Appreciate your time in the process... I seriously wish there was a 'resale' type of an area where you could recycle some of this 'unpreferred' juice. Probably would pose a health risk though :/

Though, for the comment of the TH all (but 2 or 3) being 5/5 perhaps that's not my cup of tea, considering I prefer a low TH.

There is also the PIF (Pay It Forward) section.

Thank you, OP for your time and your review.

Thanks for your reviews OP.

Given I don't particularly like MBV, guess I will be avoiding HHV.
Cheers from Down Under!

Avoiding a particular juice vendor based on some stranger's review could mean missing out on what might become your favorite vendor. All of us have different tastes. All of these reviews are entirely subjective.

A little confused on what you mean by authenticity (perhaps I'm that newb ;))

By "authenticity" I mean how similar a juice's flavor is to what it says it's supposed to be. That depends on two things, of course -- the flavor itself, and the name the vendor gives the flavor. So a juice called "Fresh Apple" that tastes like apple Jolly Ranchers would get a low authenticity score, but the same juice would score well if it were just named "Apple Candy" or something like that.

You could call it "truth in labeling". Apple Jolly Rancher might be someone's favorite flavor in the world, but if it's called "Fuji Apple" then (A) those people probably won't bother trying it, and (B) people who want a juice that tastes like real fruit won't get what they think they're being sold.

i too am extremly dispaointed in HHV juices :
1st time i ordered sample packs :

i then felt in love with heavenly tobacco : good throat hit, taste of RY4 with some cookie undertone, far from sweet (i prefer not too sweet juices) : reall perfect for me to chain vape.
I also got crazy about dragon fire (i feel it's like less sweety legend with almond/hazelnut taste instead of the cherish finish of legend).

Being little intolerant to PG, i reorder in 100% VG of the one i prefered (legend, hevenly tobacco, dragon fire etc) in 50ml pack, keeping the 12mg nicotine of the standard sample for reference and because i want exact same taste i felt with the samples.

Yesterday, after 2 weeks and a half of trans oceanic shipping, my order finally arrived in the mailbox: so far so good, i told myself!

first, i uncapp the bottle for 1 hour or 2 (smelling them, i could tell alcohol was still there in some of them) and being the impatient person that i am, i fill a tank with heavenly tobacco (which i've read is less prone to steeping) .

A few puff later, i start to be puzzled as throat hit is completely inexistant (onl way i can describe it : no difference from breathing air) despite massive vapor and taste is so thin i can barely feel the once loved heavenly tobacco (which is very frustrating, because i can thinly feel it, almost love it, and poof it's gone).

being little new to vaping (just a few monthes), i begin to be moody thinking i failed another genesis coil and start to fill a protank after a few attempt at fixing (and ultimately ruining) my genesis mesh : alas, in protank also, i gets ame result : minimal flavor and no throat hit at all :(

thinking the juice might be faulty (production error can happens afterall) i try another one (oompa) in the protank (enough geneis mess for the night) : and the same happens again!!! but this time added to the non existant throat hit, i'm confronted to absolutely no taste at all! i mean i really get no flavor at all from this juice!!! nothing! nada! zil! like water with little sweet (from VG i guess?)

in depsair, i re-empty and fill this device with another juice from another vendor (boba, to name it, another 100% VG, which i opened a few day before and which taste i already know well) : taste is here, throat hit also.... which indicate the device works normally.

So now i'm concerned for the other bottles i have, Is it normal from heather heavenly vape liquids? (when i search this forum from similar problem, this thread comes first) will steeping (caps on, in darkness) give back some taste or throat hit to these juices or must i resignate to trash bin them?

I still have some legend from previous order which taste really great, but so far i'm pretty disapointed as the liquids i reordered are no where near the original taste i experienced in the 1st sample pack. I really hesitate to reorder now since it seems production issue and i don't feel like spending another 150$ or so in liquid if the quality of production doesn't follow (i don't see what else can cause this level of difference between 2 similar orders)

Oompa takes a couple of months to steep (develop more chocolate flavor). You should still get some flavor.

With all of HHV's liquids, you NEED to leave the drippers and caps off for 24-48 hours, to let the mixing alcohol evaporate. Then, caps and drippers back on, SHAKE, let sit for a few days. Then SHAKE before you fill your Juice Delivery System.

I have some 100% VG on the way. Previously, I've had 50/50, and the Purity Tobaccos do need some steep.

i took caps off for a day and a few hours, now shaking it caps on and letting them steep in darkness, hoping the liquids reveal in a few weeks, i'm little dubitative as they really tasted blend on arrival (including new bottle of legend, unfortunately), which i never experienced from other suppliers and i don't feel throat hit at all (i could feel it in previous vapemail of samples/legend with PG from HHV, but not in this one, which puzzle me a lot, could they forgot nicotine or make mistake in ratio of nicotine/aromas/VG for all my order??)

time will tell, i will report back in a few weeks, hopefully with good news.

an unlucky legend starving vaper

Thanks op for doing the review. Everyone had different tastes etc etc. ...funny thing is I use to have the same thoughts about mbv juices. More I just let them steep for at least 3 weeks and they eventually turn around. One only had 1 not get better.the hhv samples I got seem pretty good to me after a few weeks of steep.

quick update, after a while, the liquids seems to be revealing themselves slowly, i tried little bottle of Sludge today, i got plum note (not to sweet) with legend background, vapor production was amazing (100% vg), flavor still is light but i begin to feel it now, whereas before i could feel absolutely nothing from these bottles and finally, throat hit is now ok (i ordered this bottle in 15ml and 12mg nic)

I unsure if it is because it was in little bottle that is causing steeping or alcohol evaporate faster than usual, or VG slowering steeping, or both, but i begin to smile again now :)

And i couldn't resist sludge, it's so good i had to order it in industrial quantities!

however, dragon fire, in 50ml still has no throat hit or flavor so far...

i tried maybe 15 liquids from HHV, and beside flavor issues and throat hit being very low on the latch batch i received, i must admit i enjoyed maybe 12 out of those 15, how can i vape something else now??? this is becoming problematic :p

First of all, thanks to the OP for posting these reviews. Well done.

I'm another one who was not impressed by HHV's juices. (I actually got four different NETs and ended up giving them away, couldn't vape them.) But, as has been said many times, everyone tastes things differently. I appreciate reading *all* reviews, not just the ones lauding a particular juice. It provides a balance and that is important since not everyone will like every juice, no matter how popular.

Wow, tastes are different.

I absolutely love White Lies and Crackberry. Parrothead is an odd one, I love it but get tired of it if I get too much of it then want it again a couple of weeks later. When I want it is fantastic.

I have really liked most of the flavors from HHV a bunch. They don't seem weak at all to me.

I love HHV in fact I just ordered some White Lies, and Crackberry.
