Thanks for this tip pAth77.
I was having a self induced issue with my switch thinking the inner tube was catching on the etched writing on the inside of the outer tube. I wet sanded to smooth out the "etchings" inside of the outer tube with 600/800/1000 and polished both tubes with the included Cape Cod cloth and even played with the spring some and it did make it somewhat easier. When I focused on the ends as you suggested, it now slides very smooth. That said, it still can give my wife a little problem when she has just washed her hands and or has some lotion on them. I also think she tries to hard, and exerts to much pressure on the tube instead of lightly sliding it up. (My wife really does like it and is contemplating the smaller Ultra.) :)

I'm curious if a light media blast to a the center section of the inner tube would increase the traction for her.

So, now that I've had my Ultramax with RES for almost 2 weeks now I thought I would throw out my :2c: worth.

Other than my self induced switch issue that is sorted out now, I am very impressed with the Ultramax with RES. Without being to redundant to earlier first impressions and reviews, It's looks, feels, and most importantly, the all around performance, great vapor and flavor, and hassle free ease of use is just really to sweet. The RES has worked flawlessly for me with running a 1.5 ohm atty, AW protected 17670's, with BWB Malty & Malty Toffee 75vg/25pg juice. This is working so well for me I haven't even tried 6V yet which is unusual for me not to at least try it in this time frame. :) I run 6V in my GGTB almost exclusively, run my Buzz somewhere between 4.2 - 5.2 V with CE2 2.8 -3.0 / 3.0 - 3.2 map type tank mods. Also, I run 6V about 1/2 the time in my bottom feed wooden box mods with varying 510 and 801 atty combos.
I am not a chainvaper. I will take 2 or 4 "toots" maybe every 5 to 15 minutes & my average juice usage runs less than 3MLS on a light day and up to 6MLS on a unusually heavy day. I have taken the Ultramax with RES fully loaded (probably overfilled, kinda gurgly, and I have seen a little juice at the RES vent holes  ) on the golf course several times for a 3 1/2 - 4 hour round plus hitting the obligatory 19th hole for a drink or three :p and not have to add a drop of juice. When I do get to a "dryer" hit, it seems I can draw on it with no fire, then draw and fire and it hits fine. I can do this for quite some time before I add juice. The recommended 10 drops works for well over an hour or so for me. YMMV.

Thanks Innovapor for a great device, and for great customer service as was proven to me when I PM'd Noah about my self perceived switch issue. No questions asked, the next day I had new inner and outer tubes in the mailbox with a postage paid return envelope to return the self perceived faulty ones. WOW, that was quick. When I measured them with digital calipers, saw there was no difference I returned the new tubes. That was my bad, and Noah, if you see this, I apologize for not taking a closer look at the tolerances of the center part of the tube to start with and be smart enough  to reconize that there was no way what I thought was happening could happen.....duh huh.:blush::facepalm:
The Apex Alpha Ultramax with RES rocks.!!!

No worries! ;)

I am just really glad you like it and it is working well for you! Thank you for the great review!

One thing that would be great, is that if anyone who has gotten an Alpha and likes it could post a review (even cut and paste your review from the forum!) on the Innovapor website. It would be much appreciated and everything helps to keep us in business and depicting the best products and customer service we possibly can.

Thanks again!

Cheers,

SH

SH,

Do you have a link to written reviews on your site? I see video reviews and testimonials, but no written review link.
But then again,,,,,I've been known to be blind. :)

We are working on getting it all set up. Right now you can review any product, there is a little tab by the description on the product page, here is an example:

UltraMax 3.7v Advanced Kit: Your source for the best electronic cigarettes / personal vaporizers in the world.

Then the review will (at least it should, like I said we are working on it ;)) show up on the product page under that review tab.

It is a work in progress!

Thank you!

What you need to do is go to the page of whichever kit/base model you purchased. Scroll down to the middle of the page and click on the tab that says product reviews. For example if you have the UltraMax with RES base unit click here: Alpha UltraMax Base Unit with RES

This is a very well crafted PV takes some getting used to the switch, a lite touch is what is needed. The satin finish on it it is nice and the case is awesome although it could use some rubber or padding to keep things from rattleing. When I ordered I messed up and did not order the kit with the RES, well just placed my order for that today. Once I get the RES and use it for awhile I plan on a full review.

wow so i wasn't the only one who's feeling the alpha was hotter than my other pv at 6v. i'm the guy who asked you on email if the alpha puts out more voltages than 6.4v, because the atty was definitely hotter on the alpha than my omega at 6v. i guess it was the current that was making it hot. well 3.2 ohm was still hot and maybe 4 ohm atty could do the trick. anyway i'm tring it on cartomizer and it's working great so far. it's 2.5 ohm carto, and it's been 2 hours and still going strong. at one point i had dry hit, and i did empty pulls without hitting the switch, and it sucked juice into the carto and it's fresh as before!! the flavor is very consistant, and whenever it gets weak, just do some empty pull. works great. i think this pv and carto is a great match. i'll try this all day tomorrow and keep you posted. thanks and keep up the good work.

After using the RES @6v with the supplied atties for 2 days I noticed that the whole unit gets hot. i just switched over to 3.7v with a LR510 atty big difference in heat buildup. Now I just need the correct batteries for 3.7v.

Have UltraMax no res. Using 510 cartomizers with 3.7v and 6.0v. I love it. The only thing that took a little time to get use to was that sliding switch. And as posted above. Less is better. Less force. If you push on it to hard its going to be difficult to slide. I love that its all mechanical which means I can use the dual core cartomizer at 6v without the worry of frying my switch.
If I had to change one thing it would be the sliding switch in favor of maybe a bottom switch..
