When is the ideal time to rewick my rda? I got my first rda Friday and after several attempts, I got a good coil setup with a good amount of cotton for my wick. Today I started to get a burn right after I refill rda. My question is does this burn mean I need to replace my cotton or is there another issue? I am running the dual nano dragon coil setup on a nimbus clone rda.

Burn flavor can be caused simply by running out of juice, dry hit. Different fibers last longer than others. Cotton usually needs to be change at the minimum like once a week, some will re-wick daily. Depends on how much the rba is vaped and watts vaped at, plus juice being vaped.

Also once too much juice gunks up coil, one can get a burn taste, then pulling the wick, dry burning and cleaning the coil is required, then re-wicking and one is good to go.

What flavor eliquid are you vaping? Any chocolate flavor usually means I have to rewick sooner because of the gunk that builds up on the coils so fast. But even then, I'm usually good for about 3 days. Also, what resistance are you running? My 0.3 ohm dual coil drinks up the juice like no other, but my 0.6 ohm dual coil can tolerate a good 10 hits before I have to drip 7 more drops in. If you ever allowed your wick to dry up and fired it, it could have burned the cotton. If the cotton is burned, you'll definitely need to rewick to get that burnt taste out.

If it's a new build and/or atty for you, you might try to remove the top cap when dripping. This allows you to better inspect your coils to see how fast your juice is burning up and if they're dry or not.

There is no specific formula to when to replace a wick as it's based on many elements, and basically you may need to replace it after 5 min if you burn it (from lack of e-juice) as adding juice later does not make it unburned.

My advice is to replace it when you feel it needs to be replaced, doesn't matter if its used for one day or one year.

Only talking about the actual wick here, the the same coil can be dry burned and used again with a new wick.
